Minecraft Xbox Edition is the most fun I've ever had in Minecraft.
I own the PC version. I've played since Alpha, I've played on 200 player servers, I've been to the Nether and the End, I've gotten every achievement (on PC), and much more. Even with all that said, playing it on the Xbox with a small group of friends, not having having to set up pesky servers, has just been amazing.
I'm 100% sure I've never had this much fun before.
I agree, the game is TONS of fun. I'm not even playing with a group of anyone, just myself, but it's still awesome. Even though I've played 1.6.6 already, for some reason playing on my TV with a controller is just way more fun. It's also nice to go back to simple vanilla Minecraft.
OT:
I feel the exact same way, I got the feeling I got the very first time I played minecraft and I screamed at creepers for the first time in a year... and that's without having even trying multiplayer yet, this game does not disappoint!

it feels great playing with the old world generation code, i started during beta 1.2, and even though i've only played the tutorial, it felt quite nostalgic

Still a credit to your ruse, what a beautiful excuse, To never open up your eyes and see the things you lose,
Just climb the beanstalk when you die and meet the giant in the sky.

It is pretty nostalgic, but I can't wait for it to catch up closer to the PC. I miss pistons, ravines, mineshafts, strongholds, NPCs, Endermen, The End, etc.

I was gonna take pictures of my world, then I realized it's not much to look at. lol. Although to be fair, I've only had it for 5 hours, and had to re-do all my stuff once already due to not knowing it doesn't autosave.
Boring looking small tree farm, a basic boxy wooden house with an indoor wheat farm. Inf. Water source on the side next to my ladder/mine shaft. And a small sugarcane farm near the beach(preparing for when enchanting is added so I can make bookshelves).
ive never played the PC version but i heard the world is huge. do you PC players not find the small world in Xbox Minecraft slightly restricting?
it's a bit restricting, but i never really used an enormous space in the pc version, even the main location of the server my friends and i have doesn't span 1000 blocks

i suppose its because i like too explore as well as build.
when i hit the invisible walls it kinda destroys the illusion im in an exspansive world. i suppose i have to stop exploring so much.
still a good game tho
it does suck to have to change the way you think about the game, but 1000 x 1000 is by far ample space to create a small server

I have to say that I have been playing the PC version for a while now and was really overjoyed to hear they were comeing out with the xbox version. I got it today and have been playing it for about an hour now. I really like the game except for a few short commings of it.
1. the size of the board is too small, I can see that it will be posable to run out of resorces like dimonds because in the pc version when you mine in an area for a while you can mine out all the lower area and have to move on to new areas. I have my pc version and have been mining in the same area for a while now and have only descovered 19 dimonds so far and am ready to move on to a new map area. in the xbox version this is not possable unless they expand the game to more room.
2. All the animals in the xbox version dont drop the same items the pc version does. Cows dont drop raw meat and neither does chickens. you only get one kind of meat in the game and it has to be from pigs and I am not sure why they dont let you stack the meat. It really take up a lot of inventory space to hold all the food you need to keep healthy if you are hurt. And along with the food thing, in the pc version if you get hurt but your food bar is full then your health starts to go back up and you get healed. There is no food bar in the xbox version so if you get hurt you have to eat something to heal.
In my opinion if they want to get a more broad group of people that love the game to get the xbox version then 4J is going to have to really up the game to a level of the pc version, I think this is an ok game but can not hold a flame to the awsome pc version that has no boundries. That is one of the reasons that I bought the pc version and really injoy it a lot more then the xbox version so far. I think they pushed out the game to early on the xbox, for one thing the game is only 113 megs. I really dont understand how they can say that they had to cut the game down to size to keep frame rates if they only made the game in 113 megs. I have seen many live arcade games that have hit well beyond the 1000 meg mark. So to say they didnt have enough space to use on the xbox is just not true. I think they just didnt spend enough time creating more for the game. I still like the xbox version its a good start but not polished enough and needs more.

it's more beneficial to release an earlier version of minecraft and update later than it is to attempt to keep up with the already existing version, you need to remember that minecraft is always changing

On the plus side though, I have a pet wolf.
