Has anyone else had issues with Creepers? I haven't been able to kill any of the ones I've encountered so far(5). They explode before I can even get in range to hit them with a sword, and give very little warning before they explode.
Is this a glitch, or am I doing something wrong? I don't remeber Creepers being so difficult to kill.

I've noticed creepers explode before I get to kill them also. I think it's due to the mob lag. Kinda like when you play online on the pc version, the mob tends to hit you before you can hit it. Does a similar thing on the 360. Where normally I'd be able to hit a zombie easily before he hits me, in this version he hit me first.
This is 1.6 in all it's glory. Creepers are scary pre release, harder to kill because you dont have sprint. On another note, the seed generation is completely intact. Remember the seed gargamel? Try it to be greeted with a familiar looking canyon of a spawn. If you werent here for 1.6, try it anyway, this was an epic seed.
Ah, I see. I didn't realize they were that different in 1.6.6. Any tips on taking them out in this version? I managed to hit one a couple times but when I went in for a third strike it blew up again.

jump at them from above to get an extra hit or so in, also, use a really good sword. Diamond if you can afford it. You need to take it out in as few swings as possible. The other option is to build a trap for it to fall in and the drop sand or gravel on its head in order to suffocate it.

Thanks, I'll try those. At the moment I haven't even found iron. Just been having fun killing cows and building a wheat farm.
I've been murdered with creepers already, My tactic for killing them is to swing like a mofo and back up then repeat the process, I've got me a bit of a stash of gunpowder going.

I've managed to survive like 8 creeper explosions so far. lol. They've already knocked like 3 large holes in my crappy wooden house. And a large chunk of ground I gotta replace next to it.

I've managed to survive like 8 creeper explosions so far. lol. They've already knocked like 3 large holes in my crappy wooden house. And a large chunk of ground I gotta replace next to it.
