i totally agree with the priest avatar guy. feels like a totally different game. all of the simplicity is gone. i dont know what did it....i kinda wish you didnt have to update minecraft
1.7.3 was the best.
After than it got too wiz-bangy. Too complicated. People concentrated more on the showy goodies added than actually playing the game itself or trying to work within the game's limitations.
yea i remember when you had just a basic house to survive and nothing really extravagant just a place to hide from mobs that didnt look terrible. now its all like we need to become interior designers and other things mining is just a small step for most. when it used to be one of the main points of the game. now its all about exploring caves(which in my opinion are way to endless if you know what i mean) and finding villages or strongholds to defeat the enderdragon
Honestly, I think that Minecraft changed a lot when it hit the whole enchanting update. Personally, I loved to play on PvP severs pre-1.0. Now, it's really hard to do so. You have to build your base by a spider grinder and just grind to get your skills up. Then, you have to enchant your armor to protection 4 to survive. But that's not always going to work. People will obviously have potions that the armor doesn't protect from. And they'll probably have some bullcrap enchantment to kill you first with. Well, that's basically only for PvP servers but I still find that enchanting and alchemy doesn't really fit in with Minecraft.

OT: Yeah, 1.6.6 was the best. Original Cobblestone texture, No hunger, Gravel beaches. ahh, the memories...
