I don't have an xbox live account and don't plan on getting one anytime soon, can I download minecraft xbox 360 edition without xbox live? Maybe a disc that I put into my xbox and it downloads it?
*Edit*
Ok, yes stupid question sorry :). Is there a disc based version?
Wow......wow. I think my brain hurts from reading that.
First of all, there's no disc for the game. It's an Xbox Live Arcade game, as in downloadable only through Xbox Live.
I'm not entirely sure seeing as I've always had a gold live account, so I've never tested it, but I've heard some people say you can use silver to download games.. so perhaps do that? Just temporarily hook up your xbox to the internet, get a silver membership, buy/download the game.
yeah download only but this is also done with main PC minecraft too. Which can be a problem for some younger players whos parents may not wish to buy games from online (though now its so commen these days vs say 15 years ago you shouldn't have a major problem)
but yeah it can stink for some players who may have no internet (say if your in a very rural area or something)
however!
another option is you do not need a credit card to buy the game too just go to a stare that sells microsoft points cards like gamestop i am sure and then buy the card and then use it you do not need a xbox live gold account to buy the game for single player.
Actually you can download while offline. All you have to do is have a live account of some kind, disconnect the internet, adjust the flux capacitor to full frequency and set the date to when you want the download to finish. After a few yearsbwahahahahahaha okay i'm being stupid.
No seriously how the **** do you download something offline. lol
This is like the other thread about a guy asking about how to get started with MC on a 360.
Here's the basics:
get anx xbox 360
connect it to a TV and the internet
on the xbox:
sign up for a FREE xbox live account (called SILVER membership)
goto the games marketplace
buy the Minecraft game. You'll have to supply a credit card to buy the 1600 points for $20
the game will download automatically.
When it is done, you can disconnect your xbox from the internet
If you don't have a credit card, you can buy a points card at Best buy and other game stores.
So, you have to have internet access to download the game, but you can play it offline.
Is there any reason you need to operate in such a configuration? That would probably have gotten you better advice earlier on.

Otherwise no, there's no other way of getting it.
