Haven't read any posts except for the OP post so:
I think/ hope you can "private" your game, so that only invited people can join.
Also, if someone I don't know joins I'll just kick 'em.
They will have an option to make your server invite only.
Has anyone heard of the thing called Minimizing the wiki while playing Minecraft, then when your stuck you can Press the windows start button to minimize minecraft and look up on wiki real fast!?
That's still not even the point. It's the point that, a game that relies so heavily on player crafting and interaction doesn't have anything in-game to help. You have to go to an external source to find out how to even play the game. I wasn't extremely put off by this when I started playing Minecraft on the PC, but there were times when it was annoying.
Welp now that the xbox version has been out for a couple weeks now we are seeing how accurate your points are. For starters id like to say that all of you dogging on point #2 are wrong. Yes it is set to friends only but the thing you don't realize is that your friend that joined has friends to and when he joins it opens up to all of his friends so yes you can have a bunch of people in your game that are unwanted. So it still would be good to have grief control especially because i made a vault that i want EVERYONE out of except me ( the vault is a combination lock ) but yet they can still always break down the wall. Other than that point Netherrack all your points are flawed. We have already got one update and another is comming in the next 10 days ( witch will be adding pistons and skins ) and then in August comes creative mode so we are gonna be caught up to your precious computer version as best as it can be on an xbox. As for the community aspect of it if you look on forums there are people asking for other random people to come play various games such as adventure maps A hunger games type, rpgs, and just to help build a city so we do have a community. So there is my opinions on your post.
P.s. If any of you kids wanna try and dog me out now ? All your getting is a nice message back saying eat me ;]
i agree i hate that you have all the recipes right there, and thats not even all if you want to just do the crafting yourself you can't because it does everything by itself. not as realistic as it could be. who knows maybe they will change it. ===(
I disagree. I like the x-box version better because it just works. I played on a few servers for the PC version and it was always more work to run the game than to actually play. I was always messing around with texture packs, mods and ways to cheat (spawn stuff) On the x-box, I actually get a little excited when I see a diamond.
Some decent points about crafting are made but to be honest, IMO 99% of people refer to the wiki when crafting stuff anyway. Just saves time. I would like it if it doesn't show you everything you can build in the game even if you don't have those items.
i think we will get our money's worth for the xbox version when it's updated and our special content is released. waiting for all of that though, is no fun. i agree on the crafting issue. i wish there was an option to change crafting to the way it is on pc. i always liked putting things in the table to see what i could come up with. by the way, nice boat. did you make that? lol.
If I had to drag things around with the Xbox controller..... I would never play the game again.
Maybe if they had something in between..... like possibly being able to select something (ie cobblestone) and then hit the dpad directions to move pieces of it into the crafting boxes (up puts it in the top middle slot, up right goes to the top right slot, etc) then I might consider using that instead of the weird menu.
Total Miner had a good idea in dig deep mode where you had to find the blueprints for better items as you progressed, maybe we can beg for something like that.
**** TO THE NO THAT WAS THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER IN THAT GAME!!!!
I'll stop at #1
Your a typical PC elitist that doesn't have time to acknowledge a game mean't for the pc being placed and played on console. WELL NO ****ING ****! It's gonna be different.
Besides, Do you have ANY clue how difficult it would be to craft items on the Xbox 360 without the autocrafting recipes?!
I think its completely stupid how people compare the pc to console and console to pc. I have both and enjoy them equally. So one might have something the other one doesn't, so what. In my opinion, everyone should respect what everyone likes and stop saying what you like is better. I mean this for both pc and console gamers. I play both versions of minecraft and each has its own negative and positive ways. I think that everyone should stop complaining, have respect for others, and stop talking down on what they think isn't as good.
1. I used to play PC version and I used the wiki like all the time. So This is doing more good than bad.
2. There will be no "COD kids" that you speak of. We can: choose to play either online or offline on the same world, choose if we want it so that people can/can't join without an invite, and we can block friends of friends.
3. We have plenty of new stuff that PC doesn't have: 1. we can switch between creative and survival without mods. 2. (see reason 2). 3. We have super flat nether. 4. we have super fast flying. So don't say we don't have anything new.
4. Again we have people on our friends list and split-screen.

To be quite honest, that's really nothing. PC got game-mode switching a few months ago, as well as teleportation and other commands.

(SARCASM) yes because minecraft is supposed to be realistic
