Heres what i think. If you have a good PC its best to let the PC be your main minecraft system. you got mods and skins and mulitplayer worlds.
however minecraft for the 360 could be fun for a bit if you want to chill out on the couch or play split screen with someone else. or just a big minecraft fan.
Hopefully mods and or skins and textures will come soon and some of the issues will be addressed (maybe bigger world sizes? with an option of what size to generate when you make a new world? would be nice.
Overall i think it's going to be a great game! Sure many people are complaining about the world size, but everyone should know an Xbox is not as good as a pc, and i'm a xbox player, and here i am admitting that So if the world size doesn't bother you too much, it will be a great game
I'm really torn here, I'm an explorer at heart on Minecraft, 9 out of 10 of my worlds is just me exploring the world. Then I die about 20,000 blocks from spawn and delete the world because I lost all my stuff. The Xbox 360 version would've helped me do that with my pals who aren't fortunate enough to be able to run it on PC.
World size is a huge issue for me and shouldn't be brushed off as "not a big issue".
The Constant frame rate is a huge plus, I don't have issues myself but watching the walkthrough HaatFilms released there was a smoothness that I don't have with my 90+ fps, especially on the minecarts.
Being the version the game is released in I'd say the pros outweight the cons, if it were more upto date I might be leaning the other way on that. There's room for explansion if 4J actually pay attention to the users needs, though 4J isn't a top notch developer, their games are usually poorly ported and have major game breaking bug in them. Hopefully this product will give them a chance to redeem themselves.
To be honest, I have no problem whatsoever with this release. The map size could actually be an interesting feature, as the world is essentially a giant island for you to make your own. The only slight annoyance for me is that materials, especially those that are rare( Mossy cobble, clay, etc) are now essentially limited, but the map size seems big enough that it shouldn't be a problem.

Exactly! Think of it as being stranded on a desolate island. An island where you can do whatever you want!

IMO the world being so small is what makes the 360 edition a massive letdown.Yeah its great that theres splitscreen and the frame rate is high (way higher then it really needs to be) but your not geting anything close the the minecraft experience when you cant venture any further than the width of the map
People who are saying ''one map size is plenty'' are failing to see the logic. The game is supposed to be an adventure. Not something that can be discovered within 20 mins playing time
Its not as if you even get a full map, because in the notorious video that everyone as seen, the guy generates more than 1 map.The one he plays to see how long it takes him to walk the length of consists of 1/3rd WATER.So in terms of what actual area you can cover,it seems more like you can only get a third of a map to play on
Exactly this, will still be fun but never the same. People were saying 10000x10000 at the least, and then they do this where it's one map, and a lot of that it liable to be water. That means on the vast majority of worlds you won't even get all the biomes, and own't be able to get all the items in the game on one world

I'd like to meet the guy who can explore the entire topside, cave networks, AND nether in 20 minutes.
Its not out and people are moaning about it already, be lucky you guys got it coming out on the 360. I own it on the PC but would still love the chance to kick back with a few mates and make it an all nighter on the PS3. Yeah its not the 'same game' as the PC version but lets be fair we knew that was gunna be the case, plus you can bet Mojang will be ontop of 4J helping them update this game and make it up-to-par with the PC version.

- Constant smooth frame rate. (better than most PC's overall)
- Split screen.
- Easy to play with friends. (no server setup ********)
- Friends list.
- party chat.
- comfort (sit back on the sofa and play)
ConsThese are the most notable pros and cons of minecraft on xbox. do the cons outweigh the pros?
