What is this bull malarkey? I have never played any game with splitscreen that requires every player to have an xboxlive gold account! What's wrong with the guest account?

what? splitscreen online? i think you mean 4 players on console playing online well guest accounts always work why won't they?

I haven't heard anything about split-screen requiring more than one gold account. Where did you hear this?

I think they mean if you're playing split screen, over xbox live, with other people.

Like, playing split screen with someone next to you, in the same server as other people playing online.


Although I don't see why you'd both need a gold, perhaps they don't want people using a guest account?

Because guest accounts can't save. Which means your inventory would go away every time. Which means people would complain like crazy.

Games are always like this on Xbox 360. Only games where guest accounts can play unhindered are games where progress isn't saved.

Its called 'Guest' which is a active gold account attached to the prior Gold Account.

Split Screen online will require each player to have gold. Split Screen offline it doesn't matter. I'm going to assume that one could play with a guest logged in as well for ss online but until there is confirmation don't take my assumption as truth.

Microsoft wouldn't put a limitation like that on. No XBLA content NEEDS gold. The only reason gold would be required would be for server access(multiplay)

Any playing "online" needs a gold membership. But local, just you and your buddy sitting next to you on split screen... silver will do.

This is no surprise....... If you have played xbox before you should already know this

However, I found this note buried in the text under a write up of online play...

PLEASE NOTE - the inclusive "Gold accounts are the only accounts that can play" issue appears to be a bug, not a feature; Mojang assures us that there are Guest accounts for your friends to join.

Seriously did you not read the discription in the video? Thats what they originally thought , but its not the case.

Actually, you need gold to play splitscreen or online or to own an xbox or a ps3. Said so in some video I saw on dailymotion a few years ago.

Well if your playing with you and your friend on the same Xbox and you have Gold and he doesn't, he can log into guest by simply pressin start on second controller. It will save your game and the guests game. So if you load up the world your main character will have inventory and guest or player 2 will have same inventory.

I don't think this works over 2 Xhosa though as younwould both need gold to login

read the post on the frontpage. it specifically states that while currently you can't play splitscreen with a Guest account, that that is actually a BUG, not intended, and that they're hoping to, before release, work it out so that you can play splitscreen with a Guest account.

Did you even watch the video I posted a couple posts up. They specifically said there is no way to play split screen online unless everybody has a Gold account.

I have read that several times and I am beginning to think they don't understand what a guest account really is.
