While all of this talk and focus has been on the small world size, it seems most of you have forgotten what the Nether actually is. In version 1.6.6 the Nether's primary and really sole use, besides gathering its blocks, was to enable faster overworld travel. Every block traveled in the Nether was 8x that in the overworld. Walk 200 blocks in the Nether, make a new portal, end up 1600 blocks away in the overworld.
So, as I've asked before and am asking again, can anyone find out, or if you know already, what is the size of the Nether and is the 8:1 ratio no longer in existence? Would the sole purpose of the Nether be for gathering glowstone and netherrack (at this point)?
How does making a new portal in the Nether work? Does it work at all?
I forgot about the Nether's size. If the Overworld is already small, the Nether is likely to be very small as well. Unless they make it bigger, Nether fortresses and nether warts and blaze rods (when potions come out) are going to be rare/non-existent in some worlds.

This is my biggest qualm. Most people don't seem to realize that if the algorithms to add in diamond, mushroom, strongholds, etc were not altered, many worlds will be severely limited in their functionality compared to PC, since many structures may not be present.
I would like a bigger world, for the reason stated, and also because it's current size is not enough to handle a very long play-through.
as much as i hate the world size i have to deal with it mainly cause just about the only reason im getting MCX360 is cause i dont have a computer good enouhg to run minecraft without it running at like .0000000000000000000000001 frames per second
