Agreed man. It really doesn't matter to me that much. For once in my life I will be able to see Minecraft at over 30 fps!
I know what you mean! Minecraft on my PC only plays at 4-6fps. I can't even leave my house because mobs cause so much lag lol. I'm bummed about the map size but I'm too excited about having an actually playable version of minecraft to mind much at the moment.
That being said, once the newness wears off? It'll eventually be an important issue with most people. But that's just my opinion. I suspect the issue will be solved eventually. We'll just have to be patient.

I'd prefer a nice balance of frame rate and map size. As it stands right now I have no Idea what the 1024x area would equate to in my own playstyle so 1024x sounds like a nice starting off point. If 4j could give us the option to choose map size over frame rate that would be amazing.
I couldn't care if we only get 30 FPS as long as we have a map that will be bigger than a 5 minute trek, and I don't mean a 10 minute walk I want it close to pc sized maps.
It will never be close to PC size so get over it!
Can we all just stop being fussing children and just be happy for the fact we get MC on a different platform then the PC. That fact alone is enough to make me and other happy. What good does it do to complain about map size. You dont even notice it. If it pisses you off that much stay on your PC if not then let the xbox miners who are happy stay happy and dont try to ruin their excitement.
Sadly I don't think magic can solve this. Nonetheless, although I am descending into pure speculation, a number of solutions jump to mind. Firstly there could be worlds generated for the purpose of multiplayer...
OR... perhaps you could section off a part o0f a larger world for the sake of multiplayer? For example imagine you're in a gigantic 10,000 / 10,000 world and when you go into multiplayer only the surrounding 1000/1000 is used and is perhaps temporarily played like a separate map before being re-integrated into the larger world once multiplayer is over. In the same map on a different occasion the multiplayers could take place in a different or overlapping location.
I like this idea, maps made only for multiplayer that are small to handle it easier, but also maps that are only for single player that are a lot bigger. Many of you say play PC version if it's too small but sometimes you can't. I can't get internet at all where I live, and I sure wont waste money on laggy satellite. I will only be playing single player 99% of the time so I want a more fun adventure since I can't use multiplayer. What if someone wants to build a city entirely made of gold, hard to do with small maps and limited non respawning ore, just an example. Yeah though I voted for larger maps because 60fps is kind of not needed especially for one player. What if we have the option the lower fps to raise world size? Would please everyone if we had that.
