I read that updates will be up about every two months. I'm assuming there will be an update that fixes bugs about two weeks after release. I just hope it doesn't take more than 4 months to get this version up to date.
They might make so they will release 1.0 and include all the other ones before, that just so they dont have to update it 5 times.
It's coming out at beta 1.6.6... it's been confirmed all over these forums. Read bro.
On topic: I think it will take a few months. Given M$'s reluctantcy to massive updates all the time, they will ultimately be the ones holding MC360 back I'm afraid. It's all in M$'s hands.
The good thing, is that 4J doesn't have to do what Mojang originally did. They get to skip the planning phase, the how to implelement phase, etc. They just take the Java code, recode it into c++ and recompile to run on the 360, while sure, they have a few small tweaks to manually decide on, it will be a much quick upgrade process than it was for MC PC.
i believe i saw bimonthly. this could be the confusion between every two months, and twice a month....seeing as bimonthly could mean either. i'd imagine ever two months is a more realistic timeframe

depends on which releases they skip, if any, between updates. They could go from 1.6.6 all the way to 1.9 pre-release in one go or they could do it incrementally like they did with the PC version.
I'm willing to bet they could just catch it up with 1 large patch as others have said. Since it's no longer "developing" the patches, it's just getting them running on the 360.

1 large patch? that would take another year...
there is so much they still have to put in, to get it up to par with the PC...
It took 1 year to get the game on the marketplace...
1 large patch, which adds A TON of stuff would probably take more than a year.

The updates are free!
That not how TU work. They are free.

I'm hoping that they lump the updates together so we don't have to update 3 or 4 times to get to release.
Look at the game now, it took a year, to release the game which i heard is only 120 mb...
there is no way that its only going to take a few months for patches...
people who think patches are small then the game, they still have to add A LOT,..
which will probably way more than 120mb.
Of course, by then the PC version will have advanced some more so...
exactly...
