Just seen a major house cleaning....thx mods, even though there was some good convo in there.
To the point, I assume with us gettn 1.6.6 (yes its the most stable etc,not the point) most the bugs up through 1.8 or higher to 1.1 will be dealt with before they are even bugs.
Reasons I think this are they have allready fixed em.Pluss on Xbox we cant have 1.6.0,1.6.1,1.6.2 etc .
Just bring`n this up because I think it is worthy of some discussion (yes its a msg board thats what it is for).
Also I dont think they will update us the same way .IE we wont get 1.7 we will go streight to 1.8 or 1.9.It does take work to xlate, but not half as much as it does from scratch.
I throw this out to others (for discussion) because a sheep whool question cought my eye. From there I realised I was also kinda curious about that.
Looking for thoughts and oppinions,no need to razz any one for thiers,......Its a msg board a form of discussion.
There is no 1.9 beta, there is 1.0 releaseI think minecraft will force update from 1.6 to 1.0 release. Because in 1.8.1 have a lot of useless things, like xp, it was useless then.
It is 1.6.6* with a asterisk. I'm guessing first update will be 1.7._ and then 1.8 adventure update. The will go in big steps seeing how they don't have to do the tiny bug-fixing updates inbetween major PC updates. When it is caught up to pc, I expect to see several pc updates for one Xbox update.
The current version in the game, is, as someone put it, a "Hybrid". It's Beta 1.6.6 but with bug fixes from newer versions. Example: If I'm not mistaken, on the PC version of 1.6.6, you could put a ladder on every other block, and still climb it just fine. In the 360 version, you can't do that, the ladders work more like they do currently.
I also expect that they'll update as larger updates instead of smaller version updates. Mainly because I don't see Microsoft wanting to deal with checking and allowing the updates constantly. I'd guess, the next update would be 1.8. Then perhaps 1.0. Probably whenever something major changed.

While that's true, it's also true that they could actually fix the XP bar a bit, to at least keep track of how much you have. In 1.8 they didn't have the number counter, so perhaps they'll just add that? It may still be useless and do nothing, but at least the XP you have would be saved still and be usable later when enchanting is added. It's already been said they're modifying it a bit with newer bug fixes and stuff, so I don't see why they couldn't modify it a bit more to make it work better.
