Actually from the looks of some of the videos and what some of the people that's played it said, it's kind of a mix between 1.6.6 and more recent bug fixes. A remember it being said in a video or two on youtube.
I don't remember.. in 1.6.6 could you do that every other ladder thing and be able to climb them still? Because you can't in the 360 version.

Well, they did say that they fixed things up so that bugs wouldn't be present, but here's to hoping that one isn't fixed. Because it really is useful, and it's not broken / game breaking. >.>
You can also change to the front facing third person view which appeared not too long ago. So, it is a hybrid 1.6 with optimizations.
That was around even in Alpha, I think, but later removed, then re-added. I think F1 used to do front facing third person, but then was changed to hide HUD.
Yes, minecraft on xbox have version 1.6.6 and even earlier we could make infinite water source.
