I'm thinking of a way for us to get skins that fits in with the way that Microsoft does business and the way they do things with other games.
Microsoft doesn't often (I can't think of any example) let people add stuff from the internet, gamer pics and themes and DLC content is always featured and sold on Arcade.
So what if 4J made an Arcade title that would cost 400 gamerpoints or so, and would allow you to create skins to use in the game?
This seems like a likely way to do skins - we get customization, and Microsoft gets money (it's kind of their goal as a company).
Love the idea, but I don't see Microsoft doing anything like that anytime soon.....but you never know.

I'm thinking of that game that was released before Fable 2 (I think), you could play the game and win gold to spend in Fable. Minecraft skin creator wouldn't be too different than that.

No it wouldn't. It would definitely be more simpler that uploading them from minecraft.net.

Nascar 09 had a feature that you could make a paint scheme however you wanted using Photoshop or Paint.net, and after uploading through a section of EAs site let you load them into the game and use them whenever you wanted to. and you could even get some off of friends if they had them available in their in game locker
I think that would be the perfect solution to letting us use our own skins. theyd just have to set up something like that and provide us with a skin template compatible with the game
I would never pay for something that is supposed to be added in the full game. That's a rip off. Jen made a post saying that you would most likely hook your xbox live account to minecraft.net.

edit: I personally want "No - I want to upload them from an internet site!"
but if I can't have that then definitely "Yeah, I'd buy that!"
