Well I been watching alot of these new Minecraft Xbox videos and I noticed one thing, once you pass a few blocks it will say saving new chunks and load more chunks of the world.
Now the people who saw the 'walk the world in 5 minutes' video is a hacked version of the game, I'm guessing early. But to the people who don't think that: The kid in the video loads up a new world but whenever he walks it never said loading new chunks. That means that that was a finite world or a test world. So that video is 100% wrong. If it was real it would of loaded new chunks proving that world is a LOT longer than that.
Just pointing that out. Comment and discuss to your hearts desire!
Lost Dose, that is a question that I do not have an answer to. I'm a still awaiting more information on that. Although that size would be nice. Also another observation. The ocean seemed to go on forever after the 'end' of the map. But that doesn't mean you can't mine under the ocean. That's all I got.
Hmmm, interesting observation, it doesn't necessarily mean the world is a LOT wider though. It could for example just be to increase performance on the same size world.
Let me ask you this, if the worlds were say 10,000 x 10,000 blocks minimum (a size I think most people would be satisfied with), then why don't they just tell us? It is currently one of the only bits of information they have refused to tell us. That worries me a lot.
I have a feeling that they are refusing to to tell us because they think we will be disappointed with what they have to say.
Disappointment leds to less sales.

Just because they haven't casually mentioned it, doesn't mean they "refuse" to tell us. Maybe they figure, the game's coming out soon anyway, what's the point of releasing info 3 days before it's coming out? You'll find out anything you wanna know then.
Sorry for the multipost, but this video shows a pretty big world around 4;12.
Of course, i'm no minecraft expert so it could actually be pretty small.
Um.. that's only the currently loaded chunks. For the PC version, you can keep walking in one direction for ..ok I dunno how long. Probably a year or more? I don't know these things. But you can walk in one direction for ages and never reach the edge. Honestly, if the game was THAT small, as you suggested, even I'd have a problem with it, and I honestly didn't mind the aspect of a smaller world. But that small would be a bit rediculous. lol
Now, either he's lying to us, or the worlds are much larger than what we've seen in most videos. If the world really only took 5 minutes to cross, like the jtag versions would lead us to believe, it'd be impossible for him not to know that.
On the home page they are asking for what we want to see in their video.... if we all request to have a better idea of the world size, maybe they will show it.
But really, I'm buying it either way, but I do hope the world is big enough for 8 people to explore and build without stepping on each other's toes.
On the he new OXM 4-player splitscreen video, they do a fair bit of exploring and walking and never mention reaching any borders or world limits - I'm not too worried.
I'll be buying it also, but I'd be disappointed if the worlds really were that small. Hopefully if they are, they will increase in size after a few updates.
