And the food bar was helpful because if your like me and keep falling of high cliffs you need a way to heal without having to find a pig, kill it and then eat it
No food bar, no fun, without the food bar you basically are taking most of the challenge, besides, if you want to last forever pretty much with a load of food, just go find some melon seeds.
It was actually more challenging without the food bar. Food was more scarce and didn't stack. Also, you couldn't regen health at all without eating. Some times you'd go multiple days at three hearts because you couldn't find any pigs. More challenging I must say. They also added the beds so starving was basically pointless unless you're stuck in a cave. The only thing it added that was useful was making PVP balanced and adding sprint while balancing it. That's its whole purpose. It's not to make it more challenging at all, it even made it easier.
Anti-food bar is more survival... Why doesn't anyone understand the purpose of it all. It's like just because you're forced to eat makes it "harder" or more "survival" like. Wrong, it adds balance to certain aspects and makes other things easier. Lack of hunger = hard.
When a developer changes the core way you have to play without even maybe polling the community in whole as to how they would want it, you don't expect some kind of backlash?
He oversees the project doesn't he? He tells 4J what to do, so when he wants a foodbar, there gonna make a foodbar.
Not really. He's moved on from Minecraft. 4J works on it themselves. They port all the code for the Xbox to update it to the equivalent of the PC versions. Notch doesn't decide, "Hey 4J! You know that 1.7 you're trying to port? Yeah, **** that. Just put a food bar in." No. When 4J gets to 1.8, the food bar will be there.
For the billionth time in Minecraft history.
