Total miner is like 250x on the surface but it does go down 2k pluss.Castle miner z is pretty big on the surface. Not sure how it will be but only time will tell.
There is no way it will be as big as Castle Miner Z. Total Miner? Possibly.

Dont worry guys, that 'edge' that you seen in the vid is only the viewing distance, once you get near to it more of the map becomes loaded
try not to fret, were so close to the release now
What I don't get is why Roger Carpenter doesn't know a actual size. He has stated twice on twitter that he doesn't know blocks by blocks how large the worlds are. Either nobody told him or nobody knows. I would understand this if there was just a data cap on world file size. We could be worried about nothing and the worlds end up being like 500,000x500,000. I sure hope so this is so.
The worlds on xbox are going to allow you to use the same seeds in pc 1.6.6 version...So however big the worlds on 1.6.6 are that's how big they should be on Xbox I'll find out now
No, they'll be smaller than the ones in 1.6.6 on PC, those were more than 100000x100000, I believe.
- First, that's JTAG gameplay, and probably not a final build.
- Secondly, go to 8:48 in the same video, and wait until he's coming down off of that tower. You can see in the top right, the land starts rendering further.
I know it's a JTAG, all I got to say is it better be improved....

You can tell that is just the render distance because, even though the player walked quite a distance, when he is on the pillar he appears to be standing in a perfect square of land.
Pillar up in your own map and you will see the same effect. The amount of land shown in that video actually gives me hope! 10 days! (Sorry, spring semester just ended and I'm bored out of my mind)
I was playing beta 1.4 and pillared up and saw the same effect, and as you move closer to the edge a lot more land renders let's hope the Xbox version is similar! 10 days!

A user on twitter asked Roger Carpenter about the small map sizes in this OXM video: and Roger replied with this tweet: https://twitter.com/...497744196677632 "Draw distance has been changed in order to maintain 60fps." for those too lazy to click the link.
In my opinion, that pretty much confirms that the worlds won't be a small square, that's just how far the 360 version can render on screen at one time.
In my very first world, in my very first time playing the game (I think just before 1.6), I made a really nice house, pillared up to the top and saw the render distance. I thought it was the edge of the game world so I set out to see what it looked like...and walked...and walked. Every time I pillared up to check my progress, I never got any closer to the edge. Then I discovered the wiki and found out that I was no where near the edge. By then I was totally lost, and since I had built really far from the spawn, I never did ever find my way back to my house.... Good times!
If you want my opinion. The world wont be smaller than 10,000,000 x 10,000,000 to 1,000,000x1,000,000.
Why you may ask? Because the PC maps are 32 million blocks by 32 million blocks and a tweet says by one of the developers that the Xbox 360 map would be smaller but still big.
I doubt X360 map would be "small" enough for you to reach the end even if you walk in a straight line for 8 hours a day for two weeks.

I thought that was a possibility.
It doesn't look 10000x10000....
i hope you're right
Yes, that is just the end of render. The worlds are obviously MUCH larger. How much larger? We'll find out in a week and a half
okay good

Damn, wanted a double quote, :V.

PC minecraft's isn't either, its only 8x the size of the scale of the earth.
Yeah, 8x the surface of is pretty large, and after the land ends, there's either endless ocean or bedrock.
But from an explorer's standpoint, no, It's not infinite.

Xbox worlds will not be as large as it's PC counterpart. 4J has already confirmed this multiple times.
As long as it's relatively close
Edit: I checked Roger Carpenter's twitter and saw someone asked about the world size. All he said was
"no idea, they're big"
Awesome
