Why isn't Minecraft coming out in stores!? Why do we have to buy it online!? What about the people who can't get XBL!?
Seriously, why don't they just sell it as a physical copy in stores, I don't care if I can't update the game or get mods, texture packs and skins, I just want to able to get it without XBL, because, as you may have already guessed, I don't have it and I can't get it.
Well you seem to be on the internet right now , you can download it if you can connect your xbox to the internet. All you need is silver account , which is free.
^^^^^ Incorrect good sir.... Xbox Has to have a Broadband connection for any type of gaming. A PC still has the option of dial up. Not all Internets are created equal Just sayin.... Good luck gaming in general with dial-up. (I've tried) ( then again, the reason maybe it's not out yet )
If you had researched the game for more than thirty seconds, you would have found out the game was XBL exclusive, that has been known for nearly a year. The game was even originally known as "Minecraft XBLA", if that wasn't a big enough hint.
I'm not sure why you can't connect to XBL, you can buy things from the marketplace using a free Silver account, you just need an e-mail address. If it's that your internet isn't fast enough, maybe try using a friends connection, or a family members?
Also, I doubt very many people who have heard about Minecraft, AND own an Xbox 360 don't have a way to connect to XBL. So spending the money, and time on creating the packaging and discs for a full retail release(That will likely be under 1 GB) wouldn't be worthwhile in Microsofts eyes.
Read Much Naelo???? If the OP has dial up NO friends account will be usable. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A HIGH SPEED CONNECTION to use XBLA. Not the same for forum or general Internet usage.... Correct me if I'm wrong!!!! (good luck with that) Food for thought------ What if this post came from a public library or "friends" house??????? How exactly does that connect to his XBOX360???? Key words------ WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE THAT CAN'T GET XBL(A)......... Simple answer is they don't play.

I'm not telling him to use a friends account, I'm telling him to go to a friends house and use their INTERNET CONNECTION, on his account. I don't know what was so confusing about "try using a friends connection, or a family members?"
Maybe try looking up the phrase "reading comprehension", before you chastise others for not properly reading a post.
Comprehension is understanding....... Not slamming someone for being uneducated for what you already know. (BTW starting a sentence with research more than 30 seconds implies your smarter than everyone else and ya need to be humbled a bit.....JMHO) I will go with you on this one though Naelo... Even if the source code is downloaded to a 360 via other source..... How would updates be applied???? What about the usage rights ( tied to console not user name btw)???? What if he buys a new console????? If an arcade game is not on your HD ya can't play it off-line. Are you supporting piracy????? (just fucin with ya)

I'm not implying I'm smarter than anyone. I'm not the kind of person who feels the need to belittle another persons intelligence to make myself feel better. Perhaps you forgot, that you're the one who called me out first(Read much Naelo????), remember? I was simply defending myself, and my post.
As for your questions, all the OP would need to do is create an account on his Xbox, then take it, and the HDD to a friends house and set it up to connect to their internet connection, and then download the game. Obviously, the only way for him to update the game would be to again, go to a friends house and use their connection. The game would be on his HDD, because he'd take it, and his console with him when he went to his friends house.
I'm not sure how ANYTHING I've said in this thread could be construed as "supporting piracy?????", perhaps you could elaborate on that? I'm not telling him to download the game illegally, he'd still need to purchase MS points to download the game.
I apologize!!!!! Again just messin with ya friend??? (good on you for an intelegent debate!!!!!!) For arguments sake..... Let's say the HD wont fit his friends slim modle and he has no thumb drive/ Dial up at home and can't afford 1600ms points. What Now???? Again the original question was what if YOU CAN'T GET XBLA????? Reasons may vary but the question remains...... Seems like the simple answer is you don't play Minecraft or any other Live games. Just my random opinion. (BTW Useage rights are still linked to the console not the profile) You still need internet access!!!

I had internet for my whole life, but I could not connect to xbox live until last summer.

He would need to take the Xbox 360 to his friends house too. That way it would be tied to his console, and the difference in HDD size wouldn't be an issue.
You would need to spend a few hours at a friends house to create a new account, set up payment options if you don't have a points card, download to your console, and then your good. Also, I heard you could connect to XBL without broadband. Or, just get broadband if you can.
As for the OP arcade games are marketed that way so they dont have to have full blown prices due to manufacturing costs. Not sayn I agree with it thats just the way it is.

If you cant afford 1600 ms points, why would you want it on a disc that would cost almost twice as much?

There's always the PC version....
Yes, but, I can't play 4-player split screen with my brothers on the PC version...

Um, because....It's an *Xbox Live Arcade* game?

You obviously didn't understand the question.

Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/

Think my post is helpfull, hillarious or just plain likeable? Freaking hit the green UP arrow down there, or else.
