Pistons used to be a mod, then they were added to the vanilla game.
I, for one, have not said that mods will never happen, I have simply maintained that they will be extremely unlikely.
As in blizzards in Phoenix Arizona unlikely...
Can you name one other game on Xbox that features mods?
For example: Half-life 2 has mods...but not on XBL.
If they were to happen they would appear as game add-ons, costing $$$; and would require 4J and the mod maker to cooperate and re-code the mod for Xbox...not impossible but rather unprecedented.
It may not have been confirmed but I can pretty much guarantee you, that you won't be getting mods on Xbox as Microsoft hate people tampering with their software/hardware meaning if they were to implement mods the author would have to contact 4J ask permission for the source as it is now in
C++ (which would surprise me if a few if any at all knew) not java meaning a new source. Then spend weeks possibly months working on it as they have to code in C++ and then add the textures just to have all their hard work thrown down the drain when Microsoft decline the mod. And IF there were to ever be mods at all in the Xbox edition they would cost money and knowing Microsoft it would be around 800 ms points which is ridiculous amount to pay for a mod that you can get for free on the PC.And one last thing what mod author would be willing to drop their mod on PC for a month or two to work on the Xbox version?

This ^ Everything s/he said.
Vanilla Minecraft is great, we will be fine without mods.
Didnt pistons used to be a mod?
All Im sayn is stop with all this petty squabeling and lets just see what happens in the future.
EDIT: look at all the people "confirm"

There are a bunch of other IE I could give.

Jeb is not working on the Xbox version, the API is for PC.
Yes, Jeb is working on official mod support, but for the PC. I believe when the Xbox reaches that update they may become possible for Xbox too.
