4g makes no sense even more so most games are around 4 to 6 when installed (you wont actually have that entire 4 to begin with, apps updates saves etc).
I harp on installing everything for two reasons, saves disk drive and cuts overheating by like 90%.So inturn you compleatly avoid xbox`s two major problems.
I still have all my old stuff also commador 64 attari etc. Except for my origional xbox, I forgot it didnt have an internal converter, shoulda seen the spark show when I tried to plug it into a 220 outlet in Kuwait.By then though the 360 was out so I didnt bother to fix it.
Okay, simple little answer, i have a 7 month old slim, not a single problem with it and as an added bonus the slims cannot get red ring, period(troll move on microsoft, if you wanna know what im talking about just message me) also the newer slim the better, since the newer ones have more memory, also with each generation of the slim they fix a couple issues.
also just to let you know transfer cables will transfer anything on the hard drive. but the new 360's do not work with memory units so you might want to get everything onto your hard drive.

Jyggalag's forces are gathering in the Fringe...And I HATE IT when people gather forces in my Fringe!
Mines the 2006 arcade with 12gb, has never failed and still have 7 gb left lol I cant comprehend how ppl fill the huge hard drives, I delete things when Im done with them D=
Oh, I would recommend getting one made after spring 2009 because the new smaller less power sucking CPU almost eliminated the rrod. Also if you have a 5ghz wifi router like I do you will have to use the non slims wifi adapter to use 5ghz channels because the wifi card thing in the slims is really cheap and won't work with dual band 5ghz channels. Unless you are boss and have Ethernet straight to your Xbox.
Destroy---- My most resent was built in April 2009 then, 1 month after the MF warranty expired, yet another Disk read error. I can tap on the top to get disks to load but, I have know doubt that does more harm than good. I spent almost 10 months without even turning a system on but now...... I have a few extra bucks and games I want are being released. So it looks like I'm gonna get a new system in under 2 weeks. I played a friends R2D2 system but honestly Kinect Star Wars s a Joke if your over 10 years old or have seen the movies in a theater. JMHO Even the special edition movies didn't suck that bad. Maybe Jar Jar sucks worse but I digress. Why anyone would even consider having 4GB is beyond me... 250 seems like a decent # but, Again I say.... Thank you all for the input
I have the new slim model with kinect, and I added a hard drive to it so it has about 300 gb. It has never had any problems for me, and I would recomend it. Unless there are specific kinect games you want, I probably wouldn't get the kinect. The kinect works well, but there is a rather limited section of games that use it.I have the new slim model with kinect, and I added a hard drive to it so it has about 300 gb. I have a Slim Model with 250 GBs of space in it I almost got the 4GB for like $100 cheaper... but that is crap (no offense to those of you who have it)

Unless you put a 250 gb hard drive in yourself for $60

True, but I still am glad I got it.Because I would have needed to buy the Slim with 4GB THEN buy the 250GB hard drive. My old one got the Ring Of Death like twice in 1 month.

If I didn't already have a Xbox I would have done the same seeing how lazy I am I'm kinda glad I had one though because I got the wifi adapter with awesome dual band wifi. It is the only thing I have that uses that so I get a whole wifi channel all to myself.
Just to update...... I did buy the Star Wars Bundle. Some stuff is really cool but, Some things are well.... Not worth the admission price. I do like not having to worry about HD space (320 gb) and without the custom R2D2 noises you can't even tell the system is on. Pros.... I can play disks again. Plenty of drive space and I really like/hate the gold controller. Kinect has issues but over all a neat/ fun twist on gaming. Cons... The Price is not worth what you get IMO. since the HD is a basic SATA connection you can easily put a terabyte of storage if M$ didn't charge 3x to much for a special connection... That's another thread though. I would like to have seen a Darth Vader version instead but that's JMO. The headset could have used a tweak or 2 instead of just being painted black but, with Kinect voice I guess that's not really an issue. I like the C3PO controller but my OCD kicks in when gaming and I need a clean controller.. A mirror finish is a finger print magnet and every time light reflects off it I look down to see if the battery is fully charged. Which brings up my next gripe... When the **** will M$ include a rechargeable battery pack with new systems instead of a couple Duracell's and charge you again for the battery pack and charging cable??????? Overall I am a happy camper/troll I REALLY like the system in general. Not perfect (worried about cooling issues) but, the money spent is worth the entertainment possibilities. I'd give it a 8.3 out of 10. Thanks for reading and again, please share your console version stories. Hope to see ya soon
My first Xbox straight died, just stopped turning on entirely, one day after the warranty expired. My second one died two months after the warranty expired. These were both the crap models. They had both also scratched numerous games. My new slim model has worked fine for almost two years now, with the only problem being it scratched a game, but only once, compared to the 2-3 each the other ones killed. I would suggest you get a slim.

Were you moving the console, or was it moving involuntarily like from an earthquake, or really bad washer causing it to vibrate? I've never had any games scratched, but pretty much any disc reader, be it video game console, or PC can scratch a disc if it's being moved during use, even slightly.

Not to forget about the improved GT recovery and cloud.
