I know you can have up to 4 people via splitscreen, and up to 8 on live,
but can you play with a friend with you and other friends online?
If so will how many can you have on splitscreen while online?

You can have the full 4-player splitscreen online, but you'd then only have 4 spaces for online people to join.

if we could, then your split screen players will either have to their own xbox live account or play as guest. and if they do play as gust, i dont think we'll be able to save their inventory, meaning they would have to store all their items in a chest before logging off. This is a small price to pay for split screen live minecraft!

You can have up to 8 players total. Splitscreen takes up player slots too.

the max in 1 game is 8 players so you can do that however way you want whether its 2 players split screen and 6 live or anything like that as long as the max players doesnt go over 8

I was wondering the same thing about this. Probably you can play split-screen online, but it will take up space.

Ooo, good point! I wouldn't have thought of that, of course I will probably never have split-screeners on...

I'm pretty sure the inventory gets saved. I saw a video where someone was playing split-screen and the 2nd player left the game, but when he rejoined he had the same items in his inventory.
