I must admit, when i first bought minecraft for the xbox. I thought they where going to carry over every single achievement i saw on the pc version.... so yes it was a little disappointing. Perhaps maybe though, in the future this shall be changed! I don't know but i sure hope so xD I do like quite abit of a challenge =P
I think they were way too easy. Things like making tools should only be 5g. I've thought of some fun achievements.
Where's the X?-5G-Unlock every area on your map
You made me Ink-5G-Kill a squid and collect a ink sac
impatient farmer-5G-Use bone meal to make wheat grow faster.
Archer-10G-Kill 100 enemies with arrows
Set for life-50G-Mine 50 diamonds or more
The Sky is falling!-5G-While mining have sand or gravel fall on top of you.
If you play on difficulty "peaceful" then probably so, but if a gamer is bothered by easy achievements on peaceful, they why did they start the game on that difficulty level. Try hitting the achievements on difficulty=hard.

Have you seen the achievements? I respect that you voted no but what you are saying here is false. I think like half of the achievements do not matter on what difficulty you are playing on. Get the achievement on peaceful or hard, you still got the same achievement as everyone else...
I voted no because, to me, Minecraft is a simple game. It doesn't need complex achievments that require me finding a crap ton of resources or killing a crap ton of enemies.
Mostly because I dont want to have to worry about them. And, being the achievment ***** that I am, I would if I dont have them
My opinion, the achievements are too easy, except for a few like, making a cake, 500m of rails, pigs fly, and befriending 5 wolves. I've gotten all of them except the befriending 5 wolves. Anyways, when you look at the game all of the achivements added together only add up to 400 points. Considering alot of games can add up to 1000+. I think this is a fair amount of achivement points for some easy achievements. I really don't like the fact that you'll most likely get 3/4 of all the achivements with only 1 hour of gameplay on an empty world. Maybe 3 hours if you don't know where you are doing and 15 minutes if you are going straight for the achievements on a friend's world.
Anyways I finally got the pigs fly achievement after entering my friend's world. We trapped a pig in a cage, dug a deep hole under the pig and while I was on the saddle, he dug out the block from beneath the pig. We then repeated to get his achievement. The pig died on the 2nd fall.

On balance the achievements were fairly straightforward, yes. Having some slightly more complex ones might have been nice, but it's certainly not Avatar. They can add extra achievements with DLC though, so we may get extra cheeves when/if that happens.
If you're someone who does care about achievements more than the average person, I'd like to shamelessly plug True Achievements (http://www.trueachievements.com/) - they build an alternate score for achievements based on the ratio of people who already have them, which gives a reasonable "difficulty" factor for achievements. It's one of my favourite sites. </shameless plug>
Edit: oh, speaking of the pig achievement, I have a world saved with a pig saddled and ready for this achievement if anyone needs it. Just send me a message on Live: zzUrbanSpaceman.

I think you misunderstood the poll question. It's simply the question if you agree that the achievements are easy. I do mention in my post that I would like more challenging achievements but the poll was not about that. You have reason to why you would not want the achievements changed but it looks as if you were saying, "The achievements are still easy, but I like it that way."
I want more achievements. You don't HAVE to get them. I would rather have a real "sense" of achievement, rather than a fake one.
I want someone to look at my achievements and go HOW DID U GET THAT ONE!!!!
Even if they don't give GS or give very little i still want them, It shows you did something other than open the inventory.
I am kinda an achievement ***** (~12500~ gs) but i still would have liked hard achievements. Even on the on a rail achievement it game me something to do. since i actually made a straight rail for about 600 blocks.... but i would love harder achievements to give me more incentive to do something that would otherwise be pointless.
I am a huge achievement-*****. While part of me was thinking this was a perfectly easy 400 points, the achievements really are way too easy. I finished them all on day three, my last one being the pig one (which was also easy, just required patience). I'd love to see more achievements added as updates come along, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.
If Minecraft achievements are too easy, what achievements should be in the game? You can't just take out all of the achievements, I dont know one xbox game without achievements. You can't exactly put an achievement like "Build a Castle", how would you define "castle". How would the game define "castle". Maybe an achievement, "kill 50 mobs in 1 night". Simple games = simple achievements.

Well, maybe something to do with diamonds. If I recall no achievement is gained for tools better than stone, no armor achievements are available, almost everything that is hard to craft has no achievements. I have trouble accepting the fact they have an achievement for riding a pig off of a cliff, but nothing for making diamond armor/swords. Plus, the game had no trouble defining "cliffs".
I do like your idea of a mob-related achievement, but maybe make it long term, like "kill 500 spiders", or something. It's an achievement that you slowly progress as you progress in the game, unlike the riding the pig off the cliff achievement, which is luck based, frustrating, and in no way related to your progression.
The achievements need an overhaul, and having progress based achievements are a good idea, compared to right now.
I think they're ment to be easy, instead of being something for players to show off with by completing "hard" challenges they seem to be designed as a promt for new players. To point them in the right direction.
Anyway how would you make a hard achievment for this game(w/o hardcore mode) without making players have to mine an excessive amount of blocks or generally farm mobs/rescorces which is easy but boring if your only doing it for the sake of some gamer score.
Even if that is your thing we have leaderboards for that.
New players have FAR MORE than enough to be pointed in the right direction lol have you forgotten the seemingly endless tutorial pop-up messages or the entire tutorial world?? lol achievements should not be made to guide people, they're called achievements for a reason.

To an extent, minecraft isn't so simple anymore. easy to play yes, but far from a simple game.
