UPDATE 3: Just a quick note. If you are a person that can care less about achievements or more specific, these achievements, great. But there are some people that actually care for this feature, even to a minimum like me. I agree, Minecraft IS NOT a game about achievements, but they are there. I personally like to compare achievements with friends to see what events had occurred when he had played. A good example is Left 4 Dead. No rank or stats at all like MC (exclude the leaderboard), but the achievements told me something like a story on what had the player been through, how experienced he was on it, which is why I care about achievements that much to make this post. Again, others can care less about GS or achievements which is perfectly fine, but all i'm saying others see them differently. Thanks for your opinions though; both sides on the subject.
Original Post
Looking at these achievements, it seemed that they were way too easy to earn. I have been playing minecraft since 1.1 Beta so I thought, "they might look easy to me because I know how to start out already but since this is on console, there will be many new players and It will probably take longer for them." This thought almost stopped me from making this post but then remembered that the xbox version will have a tutorial. They will also be adding the crafting info on every item so knowing how to craft something wont be a problem. To me, I am seeing brand new players earning more than half of the achievements within their first day; experienced players within the first 30-60 minutes!
I want to see tougher and harder achievements to earn. When I say hard, I don't mean achievements should be a chore like, "Mine 500 iron ores". My thought was to maybe add more achievements like the achievement: "When Pigs Fly." Maybe make getting your first diamond instead of opening up your inventory (push a button 4 achievement ). Make a skeleton kill another skeleton, fall from the highest point in the game and live. Hell, this is the xbox Edition! Achievements are something unique to xbox players! Maybe get an achievement for having a full lobby of friends, smelt every kind of meat, hug a @%#&ing creeper and live!
Please tell me what you guys think. Have any other cool achievements? Thanks for reading my thoughts.
Update#1: Removed
UPDATE 2:So after playing the game and actually earning the achievements yourselves, what do you think about the achievements? Way to easy? A good challenge? I for one thought, of course, that they were a just to boost your GS for an easy 370. I didn't say 400 because the achievement "Leader of the Pack" is actually challenging and rare to get. I was able to get every achievement first day except "On A Rail" and "LOTP".
Ya this is the only complaint I have towards the game. But oh well, easy 400 points :D.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary, full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen." - Sterling Archer, aka "Duchess", aka "world's most dangerous spy".
Exactly my point. Achievements are far more valuable on the xbox than the PC (not including Steam in this). For one, you get gamerscore added and people can see which ones you have unlocked. With the achievements i see so far, there going to be no point in comparing the achievements at all because they are pretty much bound to have them.
I did notice they did not have the more difficult achievements in the Xbox version, such as the hitting a ghast with its own fireball, or shooting and killing a skeleton archer 75m or more away, and riding a minecart more than 1000m, but that last one maybe just because of the reduced world size...
Its not like each achievement is worth like 200G. Its worth like 10G. I don't see the problem in free easy gamerscore. Because if they made it too difficult you would get people saying its too hard too get the gamerscore for an arcade game. But you know its easy because it is an arcade game.
I think it is fine to have a few giveaway achievements but most of them can be gotten extremely fast. Also there are many arcade games that have achievements that are almost impossible to get (Ex. Metal Slug 3). And although I dont agree with super hard achievements, it feels very good to actually have an achievement that only a few people would have. Makes you feel like a pro Minecrafter lol.
I'm kinda on the middle of the fence, or whatever the term is. I don't really care about gamerscore at all, but its still cool. I recently hit the 3000 mark and that made me feel good. It made me feel even better hearing one of my friends say "Congrats on 3000g!". But no matter how you slice it, its still just a number. I noticed that most games have more achievements for single player games. I know theres plenty of games with multiplayer acheivements, but not as many as single player. My point in this being, people who always play Multiplayer seem to have lower gamerscore. I find that your gamerscore doen't represent how good a gamer you are, its (as I said before) just a number.
Its normally only easy if your not a MC pro like:
Diamonds - If you dont have a stratedgy its gonna take awhile
Enchanting - Obsidian and diamonds (lots of diamonds) How is that easy?
Riding a a track - Takes lots of time even if you do it the way i did! (I made a circle and just went around and around about 100 times)

well minecraft you build and survive and craft thats it.

You make minecraft sound dull. But anyway, being since this will be the Xbox Edition, I would think they would take full advantage of the achievement system Xbox has.
I too think they should have more difficult acheivements. Doing some of the near impossible things in minecraft should make you feel good, and it gets even better if you could make other people see it. the wow factor of killinga ghast wih their own fireball is much higher than riding a minecart. just my opinion.
Look at it this way... Like most games with updates they add more achievements! Since they are basically following the PC achievements when they update the game enough to add more things like the enchantment table they will probably add more achievements to fit the new updates, so anything is possible.
how will they add achievements if it's maxed at 400 points?
Easy, The won't.
As for the thread, I also feel like some of them are a bit too easy. For example, "Taking Inventory" You get I think 10 Gamerscore for just pressing the X button. Which is a little bit too easy. I don't care too much though, I would love some challenge to be put in.. But I guess the challenge will come from the game itself.

Its hard to tell because games usually get more achievements with DLC, not from updates. But they are changing how updates work according to some blogs I've read.

Yes i know you can cheat by using creative

You got to give it some credit. Im really happy this is coming to Xbox so it can get my narrow-minded friends that play pure FPS games (CoD).
