I have read the stuff & I guess I can’t figure out the right answer I am looking for.
If I make a world on my Xbox & my friends come & play so that we can all play together. Is that world only active when I am on it? Or can my friends access it anytime?
Like I work on it during the day on my Xbox then shut down for the night. Could my friend pick up where I left off at night on his Xbox. Then the next day will I be able to pull it back up & see all that he did.
Thanks & sorry if this has been answered before. So excited to pay this!
The where they said it was shown on the home page of these forums a few days ago. Check out just after 1.35
That was one of the most vague answers I've ever heard. He was not clear at all.
Everything they've said before PAX is that your friends will only be able to play when you are on your world. When you are offline, so is your world. I wouldn't believe the PAX video because he just isn't being very clear. He makes it sound like there will be map sharing but I'm pretty sure that'd be a bigger announcement than a crappy PAX video.
Ok. He said "You can save friends worlds and continue building on them as you would expect" I think it could work like you play on your friends multiplayer world and when he leaves you download it to your Xbox and the other way around. That way when he signs in he has to download your version to play on that server if you are not on. The worlds would have to go to a marketplace sharing cloud type thing for this to work though.

Sounded clear to me. It sounded like he knew exactly how he was wording it also.

Watch the videos of people playing the game at PAX , they say you will be able to play with your friends and after they are offline you will have a copy of the world you were in, allowing you to make whatever changes you want until your friends get back online , then you invite them to the world and so on etc.

Although we do not know for sure. I still think this is our best bet on how it will work. It would make the most sense. Just think about it. When you log in on PC it kindof downloads it do you can play on it. You just have to download it when you start playing and whenever someone else log into the world they download the most current version of that world.

Exactly. Its the same thing castleminerz uses , and it works very well. In my opinion they have taken a decent amount of ideas from minecraft knockoffs , the biggest idea they got was from total miner , thier entire crafting system is almost based on what total miners crafting system looks like. Although they made thier own tweeks here and there. Im not saying they stole it , they just used it as a base for how the crafting system will look like.

This would mean the worlds were being saved/uploaded somewhere, requiring servers? Which they do not have (for xbox 360) from what I understand.

Nobody knows. You'll just have to wait and see.

yes
What has the world come to that PC players don't even know that consoles can create servers...
