No we can't. Everyone will be some form of Steve. they've already said they are working on a way to possibly get skins or at the very least, a skin editor into the game at some point.

You loss then. You hardly ever see your character unless you switch to 3rd person. If you are going to pass up a game like Minecraft because the character is made of pixels (like the rest of the game) then that's kind of sad.

I TOTALLY agree with you. Thats like saying you wont eat pancakes if they're covered in margerine instead of butter. Sure, butter is better, but its still pancakes.... mmmm, pancakes....
Anyways, I think you should be able to use USB to put the picture (like from the .minecraft folder) of your skin and the game will recognize the format and apply it to your character. That would be cool. Or have a whole database of user-created downloadable skins that can be downloaded directly from your Xbox. Otherwise, it would be too weird to have a server full of Steves :/. P.S. In the Splitscreen Demo I saw on Youtube, one of the guys had a skin.

On splitscreen, every player has a different skin. Since the game hasn't release yet, nobody know whether players on multiplayer over Live will have different skins as well.

I agree. I think it'll be great!
