Guys its something called the MOD API!!!!!!
Once that comes out you can be sure people will make mods you just have to wait.
The mod API will be PC exclusive. Modding the PC version is a big deal and its allowed on PC. So they might as well make it easier.
Modding on consoles has never been allowed for the security of other users. As has been proven before. If modding a game is allowed there will be security issues. Minecraft has/had was for accounts to be stolen, CoD had stat resets, ect.
CoD has had some AMAZING mods. Black Ops has a mod for PC that makes Nova gas fill the maps and you're in the suit you were in on Rebirth Island(don't remember the exact name of the suit. I know what its called. It just escapes me right now). Would have LOVED for that to have made its way to the 360 or PS3. But it never did and mods never will. Its just not something that is allowed.
The only way we'll see mods is if its as DLC created by 4J. And honestly when they have to keep updating Minecraft. What are the chances of them making mods and updating them as well? And if it was a mod like Mo' Creatures they'd also have to pay the mod creators. And what are the odds of Microsoft doing that?

I'm usually not trying to be rude. So if a post comes across that way then sorry :]

(02) How will we get texture packs & mods?
Texture packs could be built in or download able.
There is also a possibility of being able to transfer packs with a flash drive/internet
Looky there! Once they finish with the mod API 4J studios will have to implement it since it will be a part of an update to the real minecraft. Yes it wont be for a very long time but it will be worth it once they do
I really could care less whether the game has mods. I don't use them on the PC and I've been playing for almost 2 years. I haven't once gotten bored of vanilla Minecraft. the only mod I use is Optifine and obviously, on the Xbox 360, I won't need it.
couldN'T COULDN'T!! The expression is "i COULDN'T care less." Saying you could care less means you care somewhat, if you DON'T care then you CAN'T care so you COULDN'T care less. I have no idea why this irritates me so much.
Honestly i dont use many single player mods anyways. I just hope they do add texture packs sooner or later would be nice....maybe someway to share worlds.......um that video link says nothing about "No Mods" so where are you getting your source?
Anyone who honestly believed that there would be mods for the XBLA version is a complete moron. Mods of any kind are in direct violation of the Xbox Live Terms of Service.
How many games for the xbox do you know that have mods? It's not exactly something that happens on a regular basis. I'm sure if they really had the power to they would include it, but it'd be hard to set up a whole thing for downloading mods. Especially because a lot of mods clash with each other and it'd just be a mess. Not to mention that not that many people really have the ability to make mods for the xbox. Maybe in the future it'd become possible. It's not like they're choosing to not include it.
Agree here. Look at skyrim, I play it for xbox and i STILL have an amazing time, also i barely use mods anyways unless its something cool like industrial craft 2
It's not surprising at ALL as how would it ever be possible?
Still would be nice if they wouldn't ******** trying to say they're a definite possibility for the future, when they're clearly NOT. I would be surprised if even custom skins ever became available, or if they do you'll have to buy them off the market place I'm sure. Same goes for texture packs, if they ever add them I'm sure they'll charge for something that should be free.

What the heck kinda logic is that- that they will "have to implement it"? No they don't.
Who says the xbox has to follow the PC version exactly?
They're two separate games. In fact they can go off in different directions. The auto-crafting is an example, and it's probably just the beginning.
I would only like to see one mod into the game. The Zeppilin Mod. This mod is so cool and for those of you who have not heard of it, it basically allows you to craft this " controller " block that you put down on like a small house or airship or pirate ship you have made. Then you can fly it around! It's pretty cool and i would really only like to see mods like this that make the game more fun into the game. Not mods that make the game easier for you because then that just takes the fun out of it. Hears a link to a video about it.
