They've already said they're going to add mods as DLC based on what the community wants. As in, they'll look for what the players want as mods and texture packs and add them and it wont be Microsoft paying them it will be 4J more than likely
4J is a Microsoft studio. So it will most likely be Microsoft paying them.
And I still don't think it'll happen.

Well in that case your retarded because they have confirmed it, so people need to stop saying "Oh I don't give a **** if they said it will happen it won't." because that is making you look less intelligent than you already are.

The 360 version is most likely gonna have to be caught up to the PC version first. And with the head start that the PC version sorta has right now its gonna take a long time. The PC version is still being updated and the 360 version hasn't left its current version(except for some bug fixes if they are out yet). I doubt they're gonna stop updating the 360 version to add a mod in there randomly.
The PC version would have to stop being updated first. That probably isn't happening anytime soon. By the time that has happened 4J will probably have stopped working on Minecraft for the 360.
This isn't something where in two months you'll have 1.2.5 with mods and such. There's actually logic behind me saying I don't think it'll happen. 4J has to be making money. If they don't have a dedicated team for Minecraft then by the time they would actually be ready to implement mods they'll probably be to busy working on something else. If they do have a dedicated team for Minecraft then the rest of 4J's employees probably have to make enough money on what they're doing to keep the studio going. Including helping continue fund Minecraft for the 360. You wouldn't really see a dish soap company making a steady income on selling an everlasting bottle of dish soap. And that's sorta what Minecraft is I guess. Meaning you only have to buy them once and never again. So once everyone(or as close to everyone) that is going to buy it has bought it. They need to move on to something else.

Modding is against XBL Terms of Service. It will never come to the Xbox just like mods for Skyrim will never come to the Xbox. What WILL come is DLC. What the DLC will be is anybodies guess.
Ps. the ONLY thing they confirmed was Texture packs and Character skins. They have said nothing about adding mods in any form.
I started on and have only played Minecraft for the xbox, so i just have some bits of knowledge about the other features on the pc like the endermen and tons of structures that i thought were no brainers to have and later learned existed on pc. that said, i've thoroughly and relentlessly enjoyed Minecraft on the xbox and ave found no shortage of things to do.
Now, has anyone thought that a large portion of the reason for the version difference of xbox and pc is due to some marketing effort to introduce more people to the simpler Minecraft that is the X360 version? I may be wrong, but I feel like if the xbox version was just like the current pc version I might try out the game and be confused at all the aspects and end up not liking it. I've had an absolute blast so far though, although I'm very disappointed they didn't throw in the creative mode.

Why would a Microsoft Studio port games like Oblivion to PS3? If they were a company under the wing of Microsoft they defenatly wouldn't have ported anything to PS3 and they probably wouldn't say "4J develop products for all popular console game systems including Microsoft's Xbox 360, Sony's PlayStation3, and PSP; as well as Nintendo's Wii and DS systems, and Apple's iPad and iPhone." Sure they may port more to xbox is Microsoft pays them more but they're still a Private company.
Also, fun fact I learned from Wikipedia! 4J has 18 employees which is actually a lot less than I thought
So you are tired of people complaining because they don't know all the facts. The way I see it, no one is forcing(or forced for many) you to buy the game, plus the demo lets you experiance the game fully before buying it, I know its limited time, no multiplayer and only tutorail(i think), but it is the full game. When you download the demo you are downloading the full game and when you upgrade to full it just unlocks the rest. Theres really no reason to complain about version number or anything else since you get to try before buy. Only people I respect for complaining are the ones complaining about the bugs, because when testing the game you most likely won't run into a bug.

"If it already has been done then it can be done again" or
"If its a mod its possible to be a feature"
I'm not really sure why anyone thinks 4J is owned by Microsoft? They use Microsoft as a publisher, which is pretty common with XBLA titles, but they certainly seem to be an independant studio to me.

Oh. Don't remember where I read that but I must have read it wrong.
But seriously. All that would mean is that my point about them having to make money is right. If they only have 18 employees they probably can't stick with Minecraft forever. They'll eventually have to make money on something else. And I don't see them being able to work on Minecraft long enough to get to mods.

This game is currently the 2 most played game on XBL...(second only to MW3) Why then wouldn't they be able to stay in business puting out some DLC?
I mean the game only cost $20 and was profitable on the 1st day it was released... (Not to mention the current best selling XBLA title of all time..) I'm pretty sure a few of the MILLIONS of players who have the game would buy some of that DLC.
Sure the game is gunna grow stale eventually.... But really, come on this is MC how long have people been playing this game on pc or playing clones of it on XBLIG? (Pretty sure the Majority of the Best selling XBLIG list is comprised of MC clones)

The PC version doesn't exactly have the same competition as the 360 version. Many of those millions of players are CoD fans. And once BlOps2 comes out many will flock to that. Not saying they won't return now and then. But most friends lists are gonna be full of BlOps2 players in November. Not to mention Halo 4. Which may not attract as much attention away from MC as CoD will. But some will still be leaving for that.
People don't flock to other games on PC because the PC isn't really dominated by any specific title. Or at least I haven't seen one that's dominated the PC gaming "scene"(for lack of better word). There isn't really a game of CoD's magnitude that keeps bringing players back to play in that large of a number on PC(again.. That I know of. Could easily be wrong. But I haven't seen a game with consistently 250,000+ players at any given time). Minecraft on PC doesn't really need to "fear" anything on PC because its not really sharing its player base with something that massive(and I guess you could call it addictive. Don't know what else you could call a steaming pile of crap that keeps drawing players back in).
I mean. They did make a **** ton of money off Minecraft 360 and that'll keep them going for awhile. But as far as I know Minecraft on PC isn't stopping with updates anytime soon. And Minecraft 360 needs to catch up to it before it goes adding mods. That itself could take awhile and by that time players will probably have already left for the next CoD(or whatever big title people will be excited about by then). Meaning releasing the DLC won't bring in nearly as big of a profit. So it might not even be worth it. Especially for a small company.
If I'm wrong. Great. I don't have anything against mods on Minecraft. I just can't see it happening. I think they'll have to move on to another project to bring in money before mods.

Nah. Im sure they can work on tossing a couple mods in here and there. I mean even if it's small things like Skyblock or a texture pack or two...

Total Miner being the most blatantly rip offy and Castle Miner being slightly different but still rip offy and Fortresscraft which is basically Minecraft Creative mode (although it did come out before the 1.8 release so it's not rip offy it's just a block building game)

I hate you now for suggesting Black Ops 2 will be better than Halo 4

I didn't. I think BlOps2 will be a steaming pile of ****. I'm personally getting Halo 4 if I can get a better 360 controller before its release. But you can't really deny that BlOps2 is gonna out sale Halo 4.
That's unfortunately how this goes every year. CoD breaks sales records when it doesn't deserve it and good games get swept under the rug.

Finally someone who knows what their talking about. It will be impossible to add direct mods to the game, so we can only hope there is add ons based on what the community thinks is the best add-on and Microsoft would in the end have to approve.
