I'm excited to play it because I've been playing it on a laptop since alpha. which is ironic because like a month after it comes out on the xbox I'll be getting a gaming pc. But yeah. I can't wait to play minecraft and not be watching a slide show.

I'm not so sure about mods and texture packs. Sure, Microsoft seems eager to accommodate 4J, but having things like mods actually being supported in a console game would be, as far as I know, a first. Don't get your hopes up.
Are you sure mods & texture packs are confirmed? I have heard about skins being in an update, but all I have heard about mods & texture packs on the Xbox is speculation & teasing by the developers. I don't think they've actually confirmed them.
Jeb is working on a Mod API. as for Texture pack, I do not know.I don't really care about the version ( though I do kinda like Jungle Biomes)
Well, this isn't a clear cut & dry case of one version being more superior than the other. Both versions have many tradeoffs. Some of which make all the difference for people. Like split-screen and finally being able to play at a smooth frame rate. On the other hand some people can't live without their mods. In my particular case I find playing with other people on a vanilla server to be dreadfully boring. I love servers with a working economy. But I also love playing games on the couch locally with my family. Everyone else has their own tastes, so you can't go saying that one version is automatically better than the other. Heck, some nostigia dweebs enjoy the older versions of minecraft more than the new. So I'm sticking with the quote "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" and no one person is fit to judge for everyone . edit: sorry about the one big paragraph, I'm using my 3DS so the scripting seems to be off or something.
I can be without Mods, I would just like to have them because of Balkers More weapons Mod, it was very fun but I suppose Vanilla Minecraft is very nice as well :).

First of all, I'm tired of hearing "Omg, The game's staying at 1.6.6?! Definatly not buying it now!"
It's been confirmed that They will update the game (at an unknown rate)
- There will be Skins
- There will be Mods
- There will be Texture Packs
(All Much later, but still)
It's Rumoured is that 4J will try to break the 8 Player Xbox Live limit and add more.
The only thing I could possibly let ANYONE complain about is that its starting at 1600 Microsoft Points, but then again you have 2 Months! to go and find 20$!!

A year down the road when you still don't have your mods don't come here complaining. It just won't happen.
IF by some slight chance it does get a mod or two they will probably be original ones that are stupid. They can't just add a mod that's on the PC version without paying the mod creators. And if you think for one second Microsoft is gonna pay someone for mods to give you for free when they already have your money then you're kinda stupid.
I honestly don't care what anyone thinks has been confirmed and I haven't kept up to date on the 360 version news since I've been busy with other stuff. But I just don't see it happening.

They've already said they're going to add mods as DLC based on what the community wants. As in, they'll look for what the players want as mods and texture packs and add them and it wont be Microsoft paying them it will be 4J more than likely
