Should be optional! If you ask me, this guided crafting will give this minecraft a totally different experience. Some people will like this, and some will not. I was the challenge of finding recipies my self(and/or looking them up)! Anyone agree? Maybe they should make it optional? This would probabily need a lot more coding, but they have time now! Post about it, and maybe someone important will hear us and listen!
To be honest the old way would be so tedious on a controller. I truly like the new system and looking forward to it. Discovering recipies would mean 90% of people going to WIKI and 10% actually trying to figure it out.So it seems to me they are trying to appease the majority of players.
Crafting is a big part of minecraft but to me would make it shine on the xbox would be quick crafting/inventory check to get back to gameplay as soon as possible. I think this new system would be the fastest possible with a controller. Maybe when kinect function come into play i would like to see the old crafting system. Then it would be like having a mouse you could easily grab and drop items into the graph system pc uses, but even then i would like a database on the xbox already to look up recipes instead of grabing a computer you might have and looking it up on wiki.
Lastly the decision of love it/hate it comes down after release when we as a community can test it out and get the feel of it. Only then will any of us (except those who played the demo at minecon or playtesters) have a true opinion of it.
I'm waiting patiently for the may 9th release and looking foward to it but untill then all we have to go on is video's which isn't much.
Auto crafting will be a god send on the console version. A lot of people who have and Xbox don't have a PC in the same room. They would have to pause their game, leave the room, go to the computer, and then waste time looking up a recipe. Plus, I'm sure a lot of Xbox players wouldn't know about the Wiki.
Personally I've been unable to load minecraft on my old computer so ive only been able to play at friends house's, but: i think that although i like regular crafting alot i secoond the other's notions that it would be overly tedious and too time consuming to attempt crafting with an xbox controller but im very excited. p.s. does anyone have the link to those videos?
Thx

I'll say it again: I can't wait for all the "Can we add auto-crafting to the PC version?" threads.
I think 4J made the right move making it auto.
Thx
EDIT: Agree with each other, that is.
Took me 5min to find that.
Sounds good to me!
Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/
Mhm. Only problem I THOUGHT was you create 1 wood block... I don't know why.
