What does Microsoft offer that isn't accessible on any other system? Don't give me the "servers are better" ********, either. You have no hard evidence that they have superior hardware/features to other systems. They're charging players for features that should be free to use.
Oh, and it's "You're retarded", mate. The ironing is delicious.
I played shooter games on both 360 and ps3 thanks to friends bringing their games over, have to say the server's are more stable and also more secure, there are far fewer people using various mods and hacks on the 360 for the games that i played(namely call of duty). and actually they should charge because guess what, servers need to work for online play and that means maintenance, and that means costs. then there is the cost to upgrade security with the various hacks and mods that come out to make sure that as many of them as possible can be blocked, once again costing money. Look at the thousands of minute little services you get from microsoft, each of those has an hourly fee to maintain. and lets not forget the party system, the kinect features, and all those people that have to be paid to come up with new ideas for the system.
now how about you stop bitching about microsoft and its fees and instead just leave since you dont agree with the system or the company. just be happy it doesnt cost more than it does, you could be paying more than just the "average maintenance costs + 'delivery'"
And on top of what KaneHikari said, if its true that the PS3 is better than the 360 in terms of servers then why is it that Sony is being sued repeatedly for the multiple hacks it suffered. Many customers of PSN have lost credit card information, game data, and hell even suffered from identity theft. All of these issues are handled with care by Microsoft's over the top security and for that you have to pay a subscription fee.
the free trial comes with a new gtag lol so you can create infinite mails and then attach them to the gamertag and you will have a free month all the time

So apparently the massive amounts of money they make from their other products isn't enough to pay for maintenance, and these so-called "security updates"? Fixing hacks & mods shouldn't be charged for. Look at game developers, companies that own anti-virus programs, internet browser developers. They all release fixes for various hacks & malware in free patches. PunkBuster & Valve Anti-Cheat are always being worked on with new fixes for hacks in various games they are used on. How is Microsoft's maintenance any different from those companies? They are basically doing the same thing: patching up holes in its' various services. I think their other sources of profit should be enough for maintenance.
In-game hacks & mods are handled by game developers, not Microsoft...They only handle issues directly related to their servers & services. There's a reason why game developers release updates, you know. And really? You're just going to use the same old "servers are more stable, more secure" excuse? I'm no PS3 fanboy (PC all the way for me), but it's safe to say that you have absolutely no hard evidence that they are more stable and have better security than PSN's. And before you give me the "Anonymous & Lulzsec hacked a crapload of companies except Microsoft", I have never seen any mention of them targeting Microsoft or Xbox Live. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they've even attempted to breach Xbox Live before. So again, that's still not hard evidence of its' superiority.
How the **** does the party system, "little" features & paychecks have to do with charging a yearly fee? The party system doesn't take up that much bandwidth to use & is considered a minor feature. By little features, I assume you mean the Xbox Live Store, friends systems, avatar, etc. which again should be accounted for with the other sources of profit Microsoft has (and is provided for free by Steam, Origin, PSN, and other game services, so not sure where you came up with the idea that having those features requires a fee), and the paychecks, AGAIN, should already be getting paid by Xbox 360 sales, Windows sales, game sales, and the other sources of money.
You know, I WOULD stop bitching about Microsoft if people like you would at least see where Microsoft went wrong in that system and stopped marking Xbox Live as "better than everything else". Because charging a fee for features that either are free in other services or should be paid for by their many other sources of profit, doesn't deem it as superior.
Yes and no, it will require gold to play with friends and thats it and you will need silver (really just a account with internet) to get it it will be on the marketplace for everyone with internet but after you download it you can play offline at any time but make sure to check online for updates because this is rumored to be a really really fast updating game (updates are normally free for both gold and silver)
