Honestly, I think 1.7 was cooler than 1.8, mainly because of the old world generation and it was very simple back then. I think that Minecraft on Xbox should be kept as a more old-school kind of experience, more similar to 1.7 than 1.8 in terms of world generation and features (i know it will start out as 1.6). I think in 1.8 to 1.0.0 they added too many unfinished features to the game that took away that fun, simple feel.
Maybe on Xbox they could just add new items added in newer versions eg. pistons, stone bricks, glass panes to the game without massively overhauling it like they did on PC. And also they should add some new blocks/items exclusive to the console version (maybe like a crossbow (bow + gunpowder) because lots of people on console play FPS's and it would fit in).
i want regular minecraft, i dont want one with crossbow features , its just gonna make it another call of duty rip off,
plus would killing the enderdragon in split screen with your friend / bro / sister, be awesome?
Ah well I thought the crossbow might just act as a faster, more powerful bow but you're probably right. And I think the Ender Dragon is a dumb waste of time

your welcome to your opinion, but could you humor me and give reason as to why you think the Ender Dragon is a waste of time?
One of the main things that makes Minecraft so great is that there are all kinds of things to do it in it, and you can do what you feel like doing. With that said - I don't choose to seek out the Ender Dragon, because I don't care about it, it's not why I play Minecraft. But for other people who want that kind of quest, then it's a great thing. Not everything in the game should be tailored for me or you specifically, this kind of game can have a very wide appeal because even if you don't like something, you don't need to do it. It doesn't ruin anything for me to have the Ender Dragon in there.
^ this.
The only thing that's not really optional is the Hunger Bar, once it updates to 1.8+. But I honestly don't see why people hate the hunger bar, I don't mind it either way. Plus it actually gives me a reason to collect food when I can, rather than just keep 5-6 porkchops and leave it at that. If it gives me more items to collect in my mass storage room of chests, then I'm all for it.

Yeah youre right. It really doesnt affect gameplay that much and they did add in some cool new features. But my main problem is world generation. What do you think of old vs new?
guys. it will be regularly updated to catch up to the PC version. because its been announced that by next winter PC players will be able to connect and play with Xbox players it wouldnt make any sense if xbox and PC where playing different versions of minecraft on the same server.

Link to prove this is true? Or is this just another speculation.. -.-

I've seen people say this before. What do you mean by new world generation?

Search up minecraft 1.7 cool seeds or watch a video of someone playing a pre-1.8 version of Minecraft. You'll see what I mean

Oh ok i think i see what you mean...i guess i never noticed cause i wasnt too big on looking for mountains...but i would see occasional overhangs that i dont see in 1.8 and beyond...But i would like to know if anybody has had way better cave systems after 1.8 because i've had some pretty epic ones

Random mountains, green grass, hills, beaches, islands. Pretty cool IMO
i think i did prefer the older map generator because the terrain was more interesting e.g. larger hills and more craggy mountains. recently it has become a bit more flat but i see why its is like that. to make room for npc villages and crevasses. the one thing i think should be changed on the new generator is for the forest type biomes to be slightly rarer. the other day i spent an hour or so creating new maps to find interesting ones . about 90 percent i spawned in massive forests/jungles. kinda annoying when searching for npc town cus u cant see too far. the mountains i don't mind so much as you can still find nice craggy landscapes they are just rarer.
summary: smaller less common forests/ swamps and jungles please oh and also smaller masses of water some of those go on for miles. but thats just my preferences. minecraft overall is EPIC!!!!
p.s. maybe notch or jeb could add a menu where you can set a percentage of likelyness of biomes,
I just realised that if you google "Minecraft 1.7 jar" there are youtube videos offering a free download for it. That way you can generate a cool world then go back to 1.2. Yaya!

click on the forums tab. click on Minecraft: Xbox360 Edition. then at the very top click Xbox360 questions answered. plus. it was said that it was going to be regularly in the jeb interveiw videos.
because its been announced that by next winter PC players will be able to connect and play with Xbox players
edit: Just read the sticky.
Lol. It won't happen, don't buy this info.
The developers of this game are clearly out of touch with Microsoft policies.
Xbox & PC cannot play together unless the PC game in question is Games for Windows Live. This is the way it has always been. Xbox Live is a completely closed service. The only exception was with Final Fantasy 11 back during the xbox's launch period. It is also conveniently one of the only xbox games you can play online even with a silver account.
M$ has not and will never allow cross-platform play with any non GWFL title.

I just feel like it was added in there too hastily and there was not much work put into the actual battle. I find it boring.

And not so ugly biomes (swamps)
