If you saw the videos you should know.
It's an easy craft thingy. It has all the blueprints of stuff to build and if you have the materials you can make it without dragging the stuff into the right place.
I'm sure someone else will be able to describe it better

That Which looks like hope in the distance will Only lead to despair .
I can't wait to have it. I'm tired of forgetting how to craft something, pausing Minecraft, opening my browser, and going all the way to the Wiki just to see how to craft it. That's gotten unbelievably annoying. Now, in the Xbox 360 edition, I don't have to worry about that anymore.
Reading the first freaking words, I see many things wrong with your logic. If you have not even seen the crafting, don't be a hater and say you are not looking forward to it. Watch a video, kid.
Don't forgot the xbox version is aimed at the kiddies out there and these days kids are rather stupid and very impatient, so they want things instantly rather that creating them, themselves.
Just another example of the dumbed down world that is 2012
Or it just shows that crafting like the PC does would be a pain on xbox.
I may prefer controller, but I will admit when mouse works better, and this is on of those cases, it just wouldn't really work well and crafting would take forever.
I personally prefer this crafting system for the xbox version. I am personally already at the point where I remember all of the recipes, so that sense of figuring out what makes a door is already gone for me, so this will just make the game be more fast paced then on PC.
I am also very happy that I will no longer be killed in caves because I ran out of torches and needed to craft more.

Only thing instant is you don't have to manually put it into the crafting table yourself...which already stated...would be hard on a controller. It's not that it is "dumbed down" but made efficient for the xbox controller since you can not hook a mouse up to the xbox.

(SeewhatIdidthere?)
So is Minecraft itself, aimed for kids...
DRAW? DRAW THE ITEM? I have NEVER seen that before.
