You wouldnt be running the disk drive its an arcade game.So over heating is not an issue.
One of the main reasons I install all my games that do come on CD`s.
This is an interesting topic. I have 3 first gen boxes with disc read errors so, Arcade seems the only way to play. (I know they can be fixed) but, this is a good opportunity to reuse them in a productive way and help the community. Thanks for the idea!!!! PVP/ Griefing and Free Build servers all on one family account It could work.......
No, but something odd is that I've had my xbox 360 for 4 years, played it for hours and no red ring of death. It has some things on it that weren't on the box. They must've messed up but still it would be fun to own a server but, it would cost a bunch.

I've actually left it on for 48 hours. I've had my 60gig Pro for about two and a half years now. Average play time when I play ffxi is leaving it on for 8+ hours a day. I don't play it that long, but I leave it to idle. I also leave my xbox on all night because I use netflix/youtube to fall asleep because I need noise. The xbox can handle a great deal. Never red ringed, it's 3 ringed, but that was because of a power surge/fuse blown.

I am not even sure that is possible.
Unlike mine craft pc version from what I know Microsoft will provide the hosting this time.
I do believe you can have local server running from wifi
but not to a computer.
hope this helps
If you for some reason had the resources laying around, of course! Otherwise, no, I would not go to the trouble of buying an xbox and a year of gold for an account i would only use for hosting a minecraft server. I'd sooner just use mine and leave it on a little bit longer after i leave.
But we're not entirely sure how the servers will work, so it may be possible to transfer hosting to other people ( i know one of the clones can do this).

Yes, if I had the money. Also, I dont like the controls for the Xbox when using Minecraft, I would find out a way to place with a mouse and keyboard on the 360. Newer Xbox's dont get red rings, Ive left my Xbox on for more than a week because I forgot to turn it off. I would dedicate 'a' Xbox to run a server.
