I was thinking; is anyone else in the mindset that once we let people on the 360 run rampent on our well developed, high scociety servers that there is a chance they will be ruined? I have a game called Total Miner Forge on the Xbox, which is basicly a very basic version of Minecraft. It has servers, almost like Minecraft. The only difference: almost all of these servers have good intentions, but end up as worlds that are run amuck by griefing. If we can't trust them with a simple indie game, who says they are to be trusted with the creations of wonderful builders who put time and effort into the things they make? In my mind, the Xbox is just going to be filled with impatiant people who only got the game because their friends had it. Should we really let these people destroy what we have worked so hard to create? Please tell me what you think in your posts.
Griefing is just something you have to deal with on xbox. Theres almost no way around it. Someone at some time will play just to grief other players. But you do not have stay in their game , go join some one elses game or better yet host your own so if people are griefing you can keep control of it in your own server and kick them out etc.
Well as far as I know.. There won't be proper griefers. And if there are, it'd be your own fault for letting 'em join. If I'm not mistaken, you can only play with people on your friends list. Meaning if you add people you don't know, specifically to play online.. then it's your own fault.
This part made me laugh so hard. Sure there are some good civil servers out there but I have been on plenty that are the exact opposite. Don't act like the same thing doesn't happen on the PC. I've been on plenty of servers where griefing and various other forms of being a douchebag were happening. So don't act all high and mighty against Xbox players because the PC has just as many douchebags as the consoles.
I boot the people who join me and my friends games
Plain and simple
Then laugh and cringe at the squeaky voice messages I get from booting them
Its called a private game. When will you people learn. I dont send messages about this type of thing, but really it would take two seconds to change the server setting and then you wont be wasting peoples time
I don't understand the point, griefing is rampant on the P.C. version too. Furthermore on xbox you can only play with people on your friends list, so don't be friends with griefers and you won't have that problem.
I don't think thats quite right. Only being able to play with people on your freinds list is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. No game is just freinds only , im almost 100% sure there will be an option to join a random server , or choose a server from a list of people hosting games. Please correct me if im wrong , but I have not seen any evidence of this?

I don't remember seeing anything like that, but then again all the details we do have are quite vague.
Like most games on the xbox you could simply set it to private and only way a person can join is through an invite. I dont think it will ruin minecraft at all in fact more income for the company more incentive to keep up the good work so I think it will do the total opposite and improve minecraft.
There will always be griefers and if that scares ya xbox provides an opportunity to play offline but still play with your friends via split-screen. If you wish to have "high society servers" jump to pc. Either way I believe it is a nice step foward and even pc elitist can agree that having the recipe right in game saves all the trips to wiki when a person first starts up.
As far as I know griefing shouldn't be a problem since the word that's going about is that your friends are the only ones who can join you. Another point that I'd like to make is that not all xbox player are bad, and not every xbox player will buy Minecraft. The FPS lovers most PC gamers complain about will probably stick thier noses up at Minecraft, because it's not thier forte of game type. I personnnaly have played xbox for over 6 years, and have been playing Minecraft since alpha. Griefing will be a problem on xbox, but it's already a problem on PC, and i don't quite think that it's runing the game for anyone.
PC elitist are about 10 times more annoying than childish people and you represent both demographics very thoroughly xbox willbe friends only, you didnt do any research before posting and that makes you a forum greifer if i may be so bold.

thank you for defending us Xbox players.. im really getting annoyed with the PC elitists around here...
Best advice I can give you is if someone on your friends list is 13, plays CoD, and wants to play, say no. Not because there's anything wrong with 13 year olds. But from my experience most young teens that play CoD are mostly trickshotters and boosters. And trickshotters and boosters ruin things.
