check this video out, its a demo of minecraft 360 version playing 2 player offline split screen, and as you can see one of the guys customized his character

They have said multiple times that the game will not have skins at launch but they will be added in after a few updates.

... Hmm. Strange. Apparently, even though we know there won't be skins in the game as it has been said so, the DEVELOPERS have skins.

From what I have seen, it looks like there will be 6 or so skins to choose from with steve's face but a different body.
