He is wrong it is supposed to be release in 1.6.6 that was what it was in minecon then eventually catch up to the pc version. Read other posts please, before you put out information that is unofficial 1.6 is what it is supposed to be but who knows it isnt out yet.
at minecon i believe it was in either beta 1.6 or 1.7. this was obviously before villages, larger biomes, food meter, etc.
it is possible that they have coded it at a more recent version for the full release(they might have just slapped together a trial version for minecon) but if not, we have been assured constant updates, and eventually it will catch up to PC. you will just have to live with an older version for a while.
I assume that it won't be a very recent update and I saw that previous posts said that it will be in 1.6 or 1.7. That seems pretty correct considering it may take some time to code all of the information. You never know what Mojang may do though... they are always full of surprises!

It has to be before 1.8 because the trailer and screenshots on the XBLA marketplace have no hunger bar. Also, they've said that they will start out behind the PC version and then catch up to the point where they are only 1 month behind the PC version.

It's obviously in 1.6/1.7 in the videos. Punching sheep got you wool, no hunger bar, no food from cows, etc. I doubt they've updated considering it would just be a lot more work to update it, on top of all the stuff they have to do to make it work right on xbox. So my guess is when it first comes out, it will be 1.7 or so. Then as updates come out, as said, it'll catch up to the pc version.
I would like to point out one simple thing people seem to forget around here though.. That since none of the people replying(myself included) work for Mojang, we have no way of knowing any information for sure. The only way to know for sure, is to just wait until it comes out. As info gets released, I'm sure it'll be updated on the main page, or in the FAQ thread above or something.
it will probably be of in the 1.2.4 or 1.2.5 considering there have been 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 released in the same 24hrs yesterday and it is said to released on the 7th
