It has been going around that you will be able to play with pc users on the xbox (which would be awesome btw), but it seems impossible because of the version differences. Xbox version will be pre 1.8, and the pc users are around 1.1! How would it be possible for the two to connect in one server, when the differences between the versions are so substantial?
There's so many questions up in the air.
Lots of rumors about the issue version, PC/xbox play, mods, skins, texture packs, etc., etc., etc.. Everyone seems to think (and post) that they heard the latest and are sure of their "facts". All these posts were annoying, now it's getting downright funny.
Why don't we calm down and wait till it's released (shortly) and then we'll know all the answers for sure.
Well they started development probbably after 1.6 so thats the one theyre making. If you imagine making a game for another platform then the current one updating you need to make the version your working on then start making the update... then it would take ages.
On another note. How would we commune with PC players if we use headsets and they use keyboard mostly?
ok
1st of its STARTED on 1.6 for dev just like minecraft for pc, it started out as "beta" this is the same with xbox but you cannot buy it. by the time minecraft is out for xbox it will most likly be up to date or almost up to date
Now for your 2nd question, Xbox 360 can use USB keyboards. Xbox also has something called a "chatPad". Last if minecraft really wants to they could add some type of "fast chat" ingame, meaning They could make a button that pulls up a menu with text.
but no one knows for sure. just felt like i needed to say that

Since you seems to know so much, do have a clue in what month the release date will be.

The official release is SCHEDULED for this month but that dosent mean it will come out. they may push back the release. we never know something could happen between now and then

There goes that theory.
And they had already said they would have to play catch up to get the XBLA version caught up with the PC version.
(Also, WOOOOOOOOOT MY 250th POST!!! I'M IRON MINER NOW!!!)
