I would love to have these two thing on my PC version of Minecraft but it just can't handle them. What I started wondering is would anyone here want them on the Xbox version. The Xbox could easily handle these things (I think) while playing Minecraft. On an HDTV, these two shaders would make the game look amazing!
IMO minecraft isn't minecraft with these mods. If you want a water shader, go play fortresscraft, or at least if they do put it in the game (which i doubt) there should be an option to turn it on/off.
Easily and easily... the Xbox 360 is a 7 year old system, and they would still have to tweak it.
Basically, this.
The Xbox isn't a source of infinite computing power. Based on how the water shader mod works, it has to render all the water three times in order to get that effect. The Xenos is comparable to an ATI x1800, which I highly doubt can run the water shader mod. I mean, hell, there aren't even any videos of this card running Minecraft without the mod, that's how old the card is.
If they managed to pull it off, that would be awesome, just don't get your hopes up.

I didn't mean that they should use the exact mods. It would be much easier for them to program their own water and shadows with much less computing power need. I was just suggesting that Minecraft would look beautiful on the Xbox if these things were standard.
I have my computer so it runs better than an xbox, and when i activate one of the shaders i go from 1000 fps, down to 30-40. Xbox runs a tuned down minecraft at around 30 fps... so if they added these shaders, it would be around 3 or 5 fps.. and that would be with maybe one shaders. If they added both to xbox, I doubt it would even run.
Dynamic shadows definitely, not sure the Xbox could pull off water that epic. Maybe something similar to make the water more realist and not so... blue. Not too sure about reflections though.
There is no direct comparison between PC power and Xbox power when it comes to hardware graphics functions. The console can be programmed directly to the hardware, while the PC is hampered by the need for an API (like DirectX). Without it, there would be no compatibility across PCs. The parts can vary widely, most importantly the CPU and the GPU. The console, on the other hand, is a fully known quantity. All 360s have the same hardware functionality. So there is no need for a performance-robbing abstraction layer.
The result is that the humble, 7-year-old Xbox can do some things about as quickly as the most powerful PCs, such as pushing shaded pixels. These are limited to the technology of the graphics hardware, of course.
Having said that, I really don't think we're going to see attempts at photorealism in a game that's meant to be stylized and blocky, not from the devs themselves anyway.

1st,I hope you know what your talking about.
2nd,I don't think they'd mind adding it since its optional and not forced on the player.

Up to a point, yes. This bit of wisdom didn't come from me, though.
On consoles, you can draw maybe 10,000 or 20,000 chunks of geometry in a frame, and you can do that at 30-60fps. On a PC, you can't typically draw more than 2-3,000 without getting into trouble with performance, and that's quite surprising - the PC can actually show you only a tenth of the performance if you need a separate batch for each draw call.
Now the PC software architecture – DirectX – has been kind of bent into shape to try to accommodate more and more of the batch calls in a sneaky kind of way. There are the multi-threaded display lists, which come up in DirectX 11 – that helps, but unsurprisingly it only gives you a factor of two at the very best, from what we've seen. And we also support instancing, which means that if you're going to draw a crate, you can actually draw ten crates just as fast as far as DirectX is concerned.
But it's still very hard to throw tremendous variety into a PC game. If you want each of your draw calls to be a bit different, then you can't get over about 2-3,000 draw calls typically - and certainly a maximum amount of 5,000. Games developers definitely have a need for that. Console games often use 10-20,000 draw calls per frame, and that's an easier way to let the artist's vision shine through.

these threads need to stop, and you all who post them need to realize there's like a 99.999999999999999999999999999999% chance we're NOT getting any mods

Actually they need to keep poping up and we need to realize there is about a 85% chance we will get mods a lot like this.

I agree with toning down the brightness, but I would still love the shadows and reflective water regardless.

Oh so you're making games for XBox then? Therefore in a position to accurately make these claims?
Seems to me that you're confusing reality with this overwhelming desire of yours to have this modification.
