Off Topic: Has anybody else heard about the Cross-Platforming, I don't know if they are doing it, but I hope the do.
On Topic: I totally agree with Defuseninja, either his theory, or all big mods (XRay, Mo' Creatures, More Creeps&Weirdos)
will be on Marketplace for free, or maybe 80 Points, but I am pretty sure it would be the Authors choice to make people pay.
There will be no mods, as that would require being modifications distributed by third parties, which MS wouldn't allow. Texture packs, most likely either no or you have to pay MS points for them. Also note - the xbox version is being written in a variant of C, so all mods for the PC version (written in Java) will not work, and 4J Studios I'm sure could care less about the modding community.

Users lack the mental capacity to have intelligent discussion, and mods lack the mental capacity to make intellegent decisions... I give up trying to share my intelligence with the world.
A few months from now there will be many posts that say:
"I'M NOT GETTING THE XBOX VERSION CAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY MODS"
"HOW CAN I MOD THE XBOX VERSION?"
"XBOX VERSION SUCKS WITHOUT MODS!"
"IS THERE ANY SIMPLE SOFTWARE SO I CAN MOD THE XBOX VERSION?"
10 minutes of searching on google will answer your question.
It ain't happening.
Deal with it.
Yeah 360 already has a cloud system, it wouldn't be that hard to transfer files through. This man deserves a high-five
Yeah and it's already linked up to pcs. so if you have PC you are set, plus I bet you can just out in your username and it will transfer your worlds over. At least I hope.
first of all, it wouldn' occur in that manner in the first place... you are going about this wrong.
You would have to send it in as an indie game /add on. Then when people go to xbox live, they would search for it there to download for free, or for a price thats chosen.
If it occurs in any manner, it will be that, and it will probably not involve the entire community of modders, but rather the top modders
Microsoft doesn't allow mods on their console whatsoever. Will people probably try and create them? Sure. But all that means if you use them is Microsoft permabanning your Xbox and Xbox Live account.
Look at it this way: there are literally thousands of mods that you can easily add (fairly) safely (not to mention texture packs) to the PC version. Go for it. Have a ball.
But some idiots will try to mod the xbox version if for no other reason so that they can post here and say they did it.
Modding an xbox is like pissing into the wind- just because someone says not to do it, please don't make it your Goal In Life to try it. It's not gonna end up pretty.

Yes there are a few games that have cross-platform MP.

Just it's "complicated" doesn't mean it won't happen.
