I have never personally owned minecraft but i have indeed played it at my friends and he downloads other peoples maps. I really want this so that if someone makes like a survival island map i can play it. That one was my favorite. Is it going to be kind of like halo where people post it in the network and you can download peoples maps?

Well 2 ways I can think of.
#1 You just wait for people to make maps on the Xbox version and then download and transfer to the Xbox with a USB.
#2 They might make a way to transfer PC worlds to the Xbox version or someone else might find a way.
The only issue is I don't know if the world saves will be easy to access.
Transferring saves be it via USB or HDD works it just about how the game stores it saves and if the save can be accessed.
if the map transfer works and you can find saves ( i think they may put in an option to acess you maps because at mine con you can name you map.) maybe you can also upload textures and skins via usb?
ps. but the problem with that is that the mods and most maps are in the Pc version of the game. xbox is being re coded and stuff so it works on the xbox. but if it is cross platforming from pc to xbox as well maybe it will still work.
In Fortresscraft you can just join people's world. In Total Miner: Forge you can download people's maps. I'm sure Minecraft XBLA will have a way we can play other people's worlds.

Hmm ive never uploaded anything to my xbox with a usb but it sounds like it would work after snooping around on the internet.

I'm pretty sure they would make it transfer wireless over the internet instead of a USB.
Doubt it but we will see. And doing it via USB would not be official it is just possible to do so.
