Nonsensical statement is nonsensical. Better Graphics = Less Lag? False. Better Graphics = More Lag. Try an HD texture pack some time.
That said, the rendering engine for MC XBLA is written in C# using XNA and the native XBox 360 rendering system, as opposed to the proprietary, inefficient but cross-platform system Notch wrote in Java.

I only buy avatar items if I have some points left over from buying a DLC or something else. But otherwise, I don't really like to waste my money. I would probably buy a pickaxe or something, but would definitely not buy any full sets or anything else. $2 is the most I would spend on something no one generally sees but me.
