Let's get real here, most people here who use the manual crafting system with PC
don't really try to sit around guessing recipes all day.
They alt tab to the minecraft wiki page and search for the recipe.
On Xbox, this will be much more difficult to do. First, you are bound to a controller,
next of all, theres no wiki on xbox, and third, not everyone who has xbox has a pc.
Also, people dont want to switch back and forth from a pc to a console when all they
really want to do is just sit down on the couch and just play some xbox.
Look, I like the manual crafting idea, but at the same time, is it something that really
should be on a xbox platform?

Hi, how's it going? I play Minecraft on vanilla servers if I can. Don't be a wuss, use a bed, not /set home
That depends on how they make it easy pressing the joy up up right then press A but not ass easy as dragging it with a mouse
There really is no "easy" way to do that with a joystick. You can certainly try, but you're not going to get very far. Again, if a player using their Xbox to play Minecraft wants to try it that way, then fine, be my guest, but it's probably going to get frustrating after some time. The new crafting system is absolutely needed.

I quite like it. Not knowing what you can craft made the game quite limited to me. It felt like it was to short and plain since I didn't know how much I was missing, Every time I wanted to build something I had to quit out and try to memorize so many crafts.
Also it makes everyone at par, New players will feel welcome and amazed my the wide array of things they can build. The fun in crafting isn't in knowing how to put the stuff in the grid, Its in getting the materials, That you don't know where or how to get, and building it to then learn what it does and experimenting the possibilities with this new block. The grid crafting is an annoying step in this and I'm glad to accept this change and sad its not in PC.
Anyways after you do build it for the first time you know it forever and this fun you say you get for learning the craft is gone.

People tend to hate me without ever meeting me. This makes me pity said people.
Well I think there should be a toggle. Almost like a difficulty. If you know how to craft stuff and are an experienced player, you should be able to turn off the new crafting system. If you are new, then it would be handy. Recently I was teaching my GF how to play, and she didn't know how to make anything. With the XBLA crafting, it would have helped her out alot. And then once she figures it all out, it would be nice to turn it off. Because I agree with Error52: I really don't want to cycle through 5 menus and categories just to make a dang torch, especially since I already know how to...

Yep, all games would be a lot more "fun" if they didn't have those stupid manuals or wikis.
"Real men don't need no stinking instructions!"
