I'd say look at the games available for it first and then decide on that. I got mine recently and so far Skyrim and Borderlands are my two favorite games. Yeah I have a PC so what, I like using my 40" TV and there's a few other 360 games I plan on getting soon.
Do take note that there are also other ( better ) consoles than the 360.
I love Nintendo, and even I say the 360 is quite appealing. I currently have a 360, and it's great. The controller, the games, the multiplayer online.
I don't think the Wii is better than the 360 at all. The Wii has laggy multiplayer (I've played at a friends house) and it only has a few titles that interest me. I'll only be getting the Wii for those titles, and because it is cheap. The ps3 might have a chance... But I don't know how it would. I don't own a Wii or PS3, so I may not have all the facts. I do intend on getting a Wii, but I do not really care about the PS3. I have a PS2, but there isn't really anything that motivates me to get the PS3. It's just, when I think Sony, I think "Great RPG games, great adventure games" and when I think Xbox I think "Great multiplayer". Now it also can be good with the single player, but I don't know what's up with the PS3 multiplayer. Maybe someone can explain?
Anyways, I think it would be a good purchase to have the 360. If you don't want to have to pay to play multiplayer online, then I would say don't. That's about it.
Only get an Xbox if you're gonna get other games too. Getting it for MineCraft? It's just not worth it, especially since you already have the game on another console (and you have the better version too, the crafting in the Xbox version is ********.)
