I have a question (sorry if this has been asked before, I only checked the questions in the main post). Is Microsoft okay with us modding 360 Edition like Jen is with PC or are they against it and will ban us or something like that?
Modifying the xbox in any way is against the terms and agreement of XboxLive, so modifying your xbox will terminate any ongoing xboxlive memberships you have.
I'm sure this was covered somewhere in the last 80'some pages and/or has an obvious answer I'm too retarded to see.. but Ok, a contract was signed with MS. (being the reason for no Playstation editions) Why is it on the Playstation Phone? (I realize that's likely a "pocket edition", but it's still Sony?) I'm a PC guy & can't fathom why anybody would play it on a console when they've got a half-decent PC available, but it'd be sweet to "diggy diggy hole" when I'm limited to my Vita/traveling!
I believe the agreement with microsoft is that xbox is the only "console" that can have xbox. I don't think that a mobile phone would be considered a gaming console. Im unsure if that has anything to do with it, but I think thats the main gist.

I seriously hope they make the world limit to at least 4 times the current size. It's a bit of an anticlimax to see a huge landscape, but chart it all in around 1 hour. Maps would get a little complicated, though...
It is possible to unban your account, but it requires a $40 chip, soldering skill, and some knowledge. If you're going to JTAG or X-k3y your 360, it's best you only use it offline. If you want to play on Live, buy a separate stock Xbox.
The only way to put ACTUAL mods on MCXBLA is to hack your Xbox, but don't try it, you will be most likely banned from LIVE.
Except you would also have to code your own mods. There are no "real" mods made for MCXBLA yet. Also, you have to install a chip, such as those that come with a dev kit, which overrides the BIOS. It seems that nobody around here actually knows what hack means. And you'll only be banned from LIVE if you take an account online, obviously.
I got minecraft thru a friends account, using the license transfer method. it was actually only temporary and so he could play it on my account at my house when his live expired, all he did was recover his name to my xbox, did a license transfer, and downloaded the full version again so i would have it on my name.
i recently got a new 60g hard drive since my 20 was full and my 16g flash drive was nearing the limit. after i moved everything to the new drive, i can no longer play minecraft. only a trial version. i cant do a license transfer either, (not till january 15 2013 at least) to get the game back.
is there a way to fix this other than actually buying the game? i thought maybe doing another license transfer with my friends name, but i remembered he cant do another one till january either.
anyone have any ideas? i mean i COULD buy the game i just would like to see if i can fix this like now. i need my minecraft dose for today or i will go insane.

I license transfer isnt to transfer the games files location, it just simply transfers who has the ownership of the download. Go look up minecraft on the xbox live arcade marketplace and you should be able to re-download it.
From what I heard split screen is only compatible with an HD( or flatscreen I forgot)tv and I have a standard tv and I want to play this with my cousin that DOES NOT have an Xbox but is a minecraft fan. I need to know soon cuz I probably won't buy the game if not.

I believe that this is mentioned on the main thread, but you do need a tv with an HDMI cable, or basicly a flat-screen TV.

I tried that, and it still only gives me the trial version >_<

Does anyone know if cauldrons will be in MCXBLA? I know they used to be for potion brewing before they became obsolete, but they're still very nice to have as emergency sources of water (or to store water for glass bottles.)

Maybe? No one really knows atm, I mean It'll be 4Js call. Maybe they'll do the thing where Cauldrons will fill up in rain storms and you can clean dyed leather armor.
What are some good basic structures for terrible builders like me.
How do you find slimes?>
1. Try starting with box houses of wood or cobble. Next try to upgrade and/ or improve those houses by adding different features to it. You can add anything really that comes to mind.
I tell you what my first build was a wooden house on a beach. It was surrounded by a death pit. Two bridges left the house, two went to a tree farm and wheat farm seperatly (this was before 1.8). Then I simply started tacking on stuff. VERY basic mushroom farm, furnace, bedroom below the house, storage area. It because sort of a compound towards the end.
The last building I built in that world was a grand CASTLE Base that had all the necessities inside of it and nothing was left to the chance of ever having to go outside and all the bases and varies areas I had worked on were connected by a Minecart rail system.
2. Slimes are most commonly found near the bedrock in certain chunks. Basically, you have to find a cave, go down until you pretty much hit bedrock then start searching. Or Google "Minecraft Slime Finder" and one of those can help you out.

ok thanks you saved me alot of trouble there
No problem. I think its in everyones best interest to not have their account permanently banned from xbox live.

I see many threads being posted about topics like this with no real clarification, it would be nice.
Threads like this one are under this pinned article.
