roughly how long will it be untill minecraft xbox 360 edition get jungles and swamps?
Here's the order of updates we're following: 1.7.3 --> 1.8.2 --> 1.2.3. In 1.2.3 we will get jungles, and in 1.8.2 we will get swamps. Since 1.8.2 according to 4JStudios well take quite a while to develop, a rough estimate of when we will getting it is sometime this fall (around September maybe). However, there is no exact date yet. We can probably expect 1.2.3 to come sometime in 2013.
I have a couple of simple questions. I am new and have only been playing a week. Why can't I mine gold squares? I AXE them but then nothing shows up in the inventory. I have tons of iron but can't seem to get gold.
Also, why can't I find any diamonds or redstone? Are they VERY deep or are they only in certain places?
Thanks,
Dana

Diamonds are by redstone usually and they are pretty deep and i think you might need a iron pickaxe to mine gold also diamonds are usually find by lava so if you see lava try looking around it.

In order to mine gold blocks you need an iron pick or better (diamond pick being better). Gold is relatively rare, it's usually found deep underground. Diamonds and redstone are very deep underground, they're located below layer 18 I believe (18 blocks to bedrock).

A lot of the good stuff I've found has been down by bedrock. If you dig a tunnel down (usually best to dig a 1x2 hole so you're not digging straight down -- a good way to land in lava), laying ladders behind you, you can mine at bedrock and find lots of goodies. But bring lots of dirt and a pail or two of water to deal with accidental lava spills.
Edit: Also, digging a large space at bedrock (at least three high) provides a space that can be turned into a Slime farm!
If you mean the DLC Skin Pack, it'l probably be released with the next update, which nobody knows when its arriving
I cant believe its actually taken them this long, and the only substantial thing in the next update is pistons, those people expecting the xbox version to be catching up with the PC version any time soon are living in a dream world

I have been using iron picks. I will keep trying. I have no idea what slime is but I see i have a lot to learn.
Thanks for the replies.
Slime are big green blobs that drop little green blobs that are necessary to make sticky pistons (part of the 1.7.3 update that should be along any day now).
I keep reading about woodedn blocks and the coveted "dark pine" blocks.
The trees I always see in my worlds are the dark brown bark with very green leaves - that yeild tanish blocks.
White spotted bark trees with light green leaves. ( I havent crafted blocks from those yet)
While Im here : Whats the story with wheat farming?
I have the wheat on tilled land, with flowing water on both sides - some torches near by so theres always light - i stay within 100 blocks, and the wheat just grows to a certian length, but not enought to harvest - sometimes it will just die and I will come back to a plot of dry land with seeds floating about it.

Where do you get dark pine?
Dark pine is located near snow biomes. If you don't have a snowy area on your map, then you might be able to catch some around the edge of the map if you're lucky.

Any help would be great.
Wheat farming will also need some exposure to grass. I have never had a problem w/ my wheat farm when I have green all around it and water in different rows next to the wheat.

If wheat is doing that it may not be getting hydrated. How far is water away from the blocks? wheat also grows slower with more wheat around it, it just takes a while for it to all mature. That is why some wheat will grow faster then other spots.
I have a question about using TNT to mine, if I hit diamonds will they disappear? I just don't feel like having to mine every block individually so I'd rather use TNT in my branch mine.

From what I remember, it does destroy diamond. However, because it's a harder block than stone, it generally will only destroy any block around the TNT rather than a specific radius. Use TNT at your own risk.

I will look- my biome is 75% desert the rest are islands and forest -

this may be the key - i am in a desert that has oasis - and i ploppedblocks of soil at the waters edge - the sugarcane is thriving - but the wheat is not - thank you - i will try this
Hi, I have a problem and its ruining minecraft for me so any help would be greatly appreciated. I cannot join other peoples servers. We both have open NAT's, Ive tried joining from an invite join a session in progress, get them to join me none of it worked. Even if one of my friends is hosting a game it doesnt show up in the "join game" dialogue box. Please help!!!!
Remove Minecraft from your HD and re-download it again. Should allow you to join game. Some users have had the same problem when at the Xbox Dashboard. Try going into the MC menu and joining a game then.

Anyone who answers your question would basically be guessing. We don't have enough information now to know.

@4JStudios@TheGamingLemon Possibly much later on, but there are issues with doing that on the Xbox that get lawyers all excited.
Thanks for the replies.

Read this whole forum - thousands of threads about it.
Speculated date: the 13th.
Mathematically correct date that is still speculated? Next Tuesday.
