Glowstone actually works better then a torch. I don't recall the exact light level, but I think it's like 2 or 3 better then a torch.

The big difference besides the light levels is the size/hitboxes on the glowstone. A torch you can walk by/over/through while a glowstone you have to jump over, walk around, or go under as it is a solid block.

I honestly believe this to be true. Like the PC version, to get anything new, we would have to walk out of our current explored/loaded chunks to find the new content, with the Xbox version our entire world is loaded when we start the map up for the first time. So new structures, ores, biomes I don't believe will be in our current maps. Maybe it will change, but I don't want to get the hopes up for anyone.

1. I tweeted a question regarding using the same seed to see if that would have the bug fixes, if/when i get an answer I will post it up here.
2. As far as we know 3 weeks, but 4J is hoping it will be sooner.
3. Not seen anything about that for the update, but I haven't seen a list of what 4J will have in the update next month. So that's TBA currently.

No, currently there is no way. The person who hosted the map at the start makes the xbox the server for that map. If they are offline, the server is offline and you cannot connect to it.

do you have the component cables? red/green/blue red/white? If no, then yes you will need at least that cable, or an HDMI cable to play splitscreen.

I believe you can save a world on a USB, but if you mean if you try to load up the same map to get strongholds once they are added, no, i believe you'll have to create a new map.

The Secret Friday update was how Minecraft on the PC used to be update. There would be updates on Fridays (not every friday) and no one would know until it was out. We will see an update in July.

As far as the "Seecret update" that was a series of updates Notch made to Minecraft roughly two years ago and I dont think anything like that will be curing in the XBLA version.

Lava can be used as a light source. It's light level I believe is 15 so it will light the furthest. I would be sure to make sure there is enough light where the Lava lighting does not reach, it may just be a small spot is too dark so mobs will spawn.
