As a programmer, switching between the two is nearly seamless both in syntax and in format. So building an API to deal with the map will be cake if they look at the way Notch & Co. do theirs.
I've waited months for this to come out on Xbox. Bought it yesterday and let me say...I hope they create a minecraft addiction web site because I'm hooked. I've been mining for a while, going down pretty deep and I can't find any Diamonds or Gold and for some reason I can't find any clay. Any suggestions.
Bold? Yes. True? I believe so. I'm mainly a Java developer, but I dabble in C# now and again, and I've never had issues with anything. I'm sure most people in my situation would agree that they are two sides of the same coin.
Java and C# have the same terminology but that's about it. Microsoft even had a J# originally that was java compatible, before they ditched it and completely focused on C#. They are nowhere near the same type of language other than in concept, but that's true for any OO language.
4J made it so you were required to use a HD mode. Meaning, to get the best view, you would have to play in a widescreen format for split screen. When purchasing the game it says under Local Capabilities: 1-4 Co-Op HDTV 720. I can't answer directly for 4J, but it makes sense on how a standard TV would not work because of the small box view for co-op players.
Does anybody know if/how or if you can play in the map that your friend is hosting when he is offline. We started a multiplayer map and my friend is the host but if he's offline we cant play it....... Anybody know if theres a way he can set it for us to be joint host or we can use the map when he's not on?
You can not, the host has to be online for the map to be online.
This has been known since it was first announced. Xbox Arcade. You can only get those online in the xbox market place, or via a code, but you will need to be hooked up online to download it regardless.
When a world is created, such as the default name "New World", can the owner go back later and rename it to something else? Couldn't find that option anywhere. Actually, maybe you can't even give the world a name now that I think about it.
As far as I know, you can't rename your world, it's just like the PC, granted on the PC I believe you can go into the file and rename it that way, but since you can not go into the files on the xbox, you can't change it.
When will the first update for the Xbox version come out?
No information has been released on an update just yet. The game just came out, so it will probably be a while before the first "update" since they would probably want to fix the current bugs in the game and add more content at the same time.
i had my friend over to have him try it out, but i couldnt figure out how to get it to split screen mode, is there an option or somthing?
what type of TV do you have and how is your xbox connected to your tv? If it's a computer monitor, it has to have the HDMI port.
well, im not quite sure what type of T.V. it is, but it says Sharp on the front, and my xbox is connected to the back of the tv in the little re, yellow, and white things. i think the tv is fairly old though so is that why?

alright, well you are connected with the AV cables (red / white / yellow). You are required to have at least the component cables, (red / green / blue / for the video, and red / white audio ), or the hdmi. If your tv does not have either of these hook ups, it means your tv is a standard definition tv, and will not be able to play local split screen.
Okay, i bought the game and now I can't play with my friends. Every time i try to join a session it says "connection to the server was lost exiting to the main menu".
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?!
That is a bold statement
