I would imagin so seing that most games do require this
UGH, OK. I don't like to point of having to pay for MC all over again (which is dumb). Now its no point in getting th XBOX version anymore. I'd rather the crazy lag spikes on my laptop then pay constantly to play on a game I've paid for twice just to play with other people and no lag.

Well I already pay for it anyway, so it doesn't matter much to me.

Remember, playing it with no lag on the Xbox isn't the only advantage. You can also play 4 person split-screen, if you have friends over. Play at a bigger resolution, unless you have a big monitor already or small tv. Host your own xbox-live server while playing with friends online. And xbox live parties so you and your friends can chat without 3rd-party programs.
im not sure if i'll buy it tbh, Multiplayer will probably be a hell of a lot easier mind you, but i just wish they'd raise the player cap from 8 to 16 or somthing. well, suppose that is a fair trade xD piece of pish multiplayer to set up, low player cap. port forwarding, pain in the ass, but pretty much as many players as the server can handle, but integrated network/server hosting would be a nifty little feature to have, *turns head slowly* riiiiiiight Jeb?
8 person limit is Microsoft imposed, but 4J is trying to raise it (fingers crossed)

But I'm an only child and nobody ever comes to my house so its a big downside and my MC friends don't even have XBOX's. Plus I don't regularly pay for Gold Membership.

Well then there's an instance in which you could rather use it on the PC.
Sounds good, but a while ago I downloaded a program that let me play Minecraft (PC) with my 360 controller. Maybe its just because minecraft hasnt been designed (until mc 360 obviously) for the 360 controller, but it feels terrible!
Yes.

I would imagine that lag would depend on your connection speed, at least that's the way it is on other XBL games like Team Fortress 2

your not going to be grabbing it your going to be downloading it lol
not till the 720, where by the sounds of it, you MUST have a net connection to play xbox -.-
To download it, yeah. The magical internet fairy won't help you.
To play it? Like all other arcade games. No.
To play it multiplayer? Yeah.

No. Just watch some YouTube videos to see for yourself.
1.7.3 probably with the addition of fences and stuff, but there is not going to be hunger.
