if i have 1.6 (so i can use the seed Glacier) can i play on my friends 1.2.4 sever?
From PC version to PC version? No, versions need to be in sync.
But if you mean Xbox 1.6 to PC 1.2.4, No, Because when the game comes out, there won't be an option to connect PC user's, as every has been thought to have 1.2.4
Anyway, I think when the game comes out player can do: PC Game -> PC Server PC Game -> Xbox Server Xbox Game -> PC Server Xbox Game -> Xbox Server
Most likely because an Xbox server is probably harder to manage, because of how the xbox works.
Very informative, thank you for posting.
Since I can't play without mods, I have a couple of question that are important to me.
Will the modders will be able to easily convert the mod for the XBLA version?
Does it requires a whole new codding, or is there like some kind of converter?
Will you be able to download/install the mod from the console network, or from your computer?
i would like to know if i buy the 360 version, will i have acces to the pc version?. And also when the mods are out ( if they are really going to implement them ) will i have to pay MS points or not. Very usefull post by the way.

No, mods will not be ported directly from the PC. Minecraft for the PC works via JavaCode while the xbox version does not. Thats why they spent so much time converting it to the xbox version. Not entirely sure if you'll even be able to make mods for the xbox version.

If you buy the Xbox version, you will be able to play with the PC version users on servers eventually, but if you want to play the game on the PC you'll have to buy an account.
Yeah, I would guess there won't be any mods for Xbox, unless they are made by the company that is doing the conversion and released on XBL marketplace... Microsoft if very wary of user created content and allowing people to write things that could alter Xbox's code/functions. And adding Patches/new content has to be approved and tested by Microsoft before it will be released. So probably no mods, but we will get the current version of Minecraft eventually.
I want it now and also will we be able to customize our skins when it comes to xbox 360? like without buying it on Pc
You will be able to edit your skins without buying it on the PC, but you will not be able to do it on the day it is released. Everyone for the time being will look like a Steve or a variation of Steves.
is "TheGamingLemon" on youtube trustworthy? he said the release is on may 9th and beta buyers get 25% off. also he updates for the xbox will be slower than the pc (but that means it would never catch up to pc).
It will come out on May 9th
You will not get a discount. It is 1600 Microsoft points. ($20)
The updates will be slower, but eventually the the developers would like for it to catch up to the PC version. As for when? No one knows yet.

well they were said to be caught up to 1.6.6 early march, so hopefully they will be up to 1.0 within the near 2 months from the last known version. 1.8 may be a time consuming port on its own.
There is still a whole lot of stuff they could do to it in 7 weeks.
Yes, especially now that they have the basic conversion finished. Just have to add the new content. I for one will look forward to pistons and jungle biomes.
It's strange how you can see the game on xbox live marketplace, but it's not out for for more than a month.
Its not strange at all. Before SaintsRow3 came out there was already a page for it. It had videos and such. Minecraft has the same stuff, like a trailer and Avatar gear.
Why buy a crappy re-make when you can get the real deal for 1600?

Its a possibility. I've seen other arcade game-codes for sale in stores. I bought Uno on a card.
Jup.
