Please read ALL of this post. I have the right to ignore you if you don't read up on anything.
Now we got that out of the way, what do you think of this smashing idea I though of?
First off, there could be a menu option, for a texture pack database. You could have several menus, including global, friends and your own, then a favourites panel. The database could be updated every few hours or so with texture packs properly sent in, and you could select which ones and download them onto your hard drive and use. This way people can see your texture packs and read a brief description about it and then a picture or two.
his could be sent from the PC, ie, make the texture packs there and send off to a database to allow it to be used globally. This would only work with 16x resolution texture packs though, so those wanting to play 32 and higher would have to either create their own third party software to add it (I don't condone this legally it's also stupid and can get you in trouble).
I'm not sure about you guys but I do enjoy using texture packs on a frequent basis, whether they are ones randomly chosen from the community, or ones made by myself!

Would be good, but i'm not sure how the game would recognize self- and friend-made texturepacks, except by the name provided.
Example: So everyone could put "relentlessnickel47" as the author of their texture pack, then all of "relentlessnickel47"'s friends would have 600+ texture packs to sort through to find one that "relentlessnickel47" actually made.
If there were a way to upload texturepacks directly from your xbox to the network (perhaps via flash drive?) your idea would work brilliantly.
Some of the clones have the option to choose between developer-made texturepacks.

maybe a special ten digit code for each pack then send that code out to people?
It's a pretty good idea, but i doubt the devs (or whoever will be in charge of the database) will find the time to update it every couple of hours. Maybe once every week or two would be a better way to do it.
This is a great idea theres just a couple issues. check out my topic thats kind of like yours. it will work 100% its tittled texture packs from a xbox modder perspective.
