I doubt you will have the same name, unless your GT is that name. And as for skins, nobody is sure yet. Maybe you will be able to connect your XBL account to your MC account to access your skin.

No. You have to re-buy it, as in re-register, and that means new name. And you can't make a new account with the same name. And you could just upload the skin to both accounts.
Your name will be your Xbox live GT, as far skins go that's anyone's guess at this point.

Wouldn't it be possible to, from the XBox client, link into your existing MC account by providing your username and password?
Yes many Xbox 360 games now link from your Xbox to there website and some create an interface so you can use some features. People are just dumb and say stuff without any common knowledge it would be simple to link an Xbox account to MC.
But you wouldn't have your PC username simple as that. You will have you Xbox username I'm not going to list all the reasons why there are many.

Well for one there would be no reason when you already have a set ID because you have to have an Xbox account to even use your Xbox.
If people don't have a MC account/computer but buy the game there could be the problem where more then one person has the same username where as if they just stuck with Xbox username you wouldn't run into that problem. Plus if someone had the same username it could cause conflicts with someone impersonating someone else.
And the fact no other game I know of allows you to use a username from any other console/platform on there game...
And the big one would be Microsoft it will NEVER fly by them they won't allow it this I can guarantee.
I assume our names will be our gamertags and about the skins... probably. I don't think we can use our skins directly but I do think there will be skin creator/sharing center in-game.
Knowing Microsoft, they're probably gonna make us pay for pre-made skins.
